Any truth to the rumor?

Why in the hell would we even consider an individual that treated us with such disdain? And would he even a #3 wr for us?

Tinsley had 51 receptions and Parker Washington had 46 despite missing 3 or 4 games.
Fleming was #4 at OSU with 34 receptions and only because Smith-Nijigba was out virtually all year. If he's healthy Fleming is on special teams. I honestly can't see how anyone could project him coming to PSU and being the lead dog. If that's the case, then no one should project PSU to have a passing game that will meet with any success .....because the 4th or 5th best OSU receiver would be PSUs best. Defenses should be able to put 8 in the box and stuff the run. 7-5 would be the future.

what does Tinsley or Washington have to do with anything? They are gone. Our returning wrs havent done anything.

Over the past 2 seasons Justin Shorter has out preformed Fleming. Despite being on a less dynamic offense. How many here would be excited if he were coming back? Because that's what you'd get from Fleming.

Because you can only make comparisons with team and individual performances from last year.
You're making the assumption that Fleming would do better than 34 catches?
Wallace had 19 in limited snaps. Seriously, you don't think he'd have had more than 34 if he played Fleming's snaps. Fleming is an average to slightly above average Big 10 WR. He is not a difference maker on any conference team. We have 3 years of evidence. It's hilarious that fanboys here think you can take Ohio State's castoffs and then use them to beat the Buckeyes on the field. LOL
The only sense in kicking the tires on Fleming would be if something is going on behind the scenes....specifically Cephus isn't coming.

Fleming would probably be #2 behind Cephus. Irs a pretty safe assumption tbh.

The thing is, if anyone talked about Fleming's decision to go to Ohio St as poor then the Ohio St lackeys (most pretending to be fans of ND, Michigan, and Northwestern of all schools) jumped up and down screaming how Fleming would be starting for them last year if he hadn't had some bump or bruise.

The bottom line is that Fleming didn't live up to his #1 WR and #7 overall in the nation hype and Ohio St recruited over him. You weren't permitted to say this last year without being harassed. The young man both underperformed his rankings and was done dirty by Ohio St. Mission accomplished by Ohio St win at all costs recruiting. They kept Fleming from PSU where he probably would have become a household name by now.

That said, I'm not sure where I stand on his possible attempt to come home. He did spurn PSU and I don't know how that plays in the locker room. But he does probably have enough talent to help PSU on the field without an established WR room. He may also be extra motivated to perform against an Ohio St team (often with a so-so secondary) that appears to have mislead and somewhat discarded him.

Tough call. We do need more WR help and 4th on Ohio St is against nearly all top 100 overall players at that position.

Those 2 are gone. Did anyone on the current roster produce like he did last year? You know the answer.

Then PSU won't challenge OSU, Michigan and likely several others. Fans should lower their expectations to 8-4 or 7-5.
Several others is wrong but does anyone other than a couple delusional people think we're at the level of Michigan and Ohio State?

Exactly, this year we are and we have 2 weaker positions. WR is one of them. Ohio stat has the number one WR room in the country. Their #3 receiver improves our WR room.
If Fleming hits the portal, he's 4 or below. 3 he stays at OSU.

We want to be.

We were even with Michign in recent times until the last few years.

OSU has dominated us in wins vs losses but two of those losses were by 1 pt and we were winning last year mid 4th quarter.

My point is that 1 or 2 key players have been the difference.

He adds to PSU and takes away from Ohio State. Even more important bc of that fact.
Uh no, I've read (Eleven Warriors) that he could be the 5th receiver at OSU this year behind Harrison, Egbuka (both starters from last year), and maybe Ballard, and Tate. He'll be battling Ballard, Tate, and incoming #1 national receiver Innis in the Fall.

OSU has to get Ballard on the field a lot more or they'll lose him - he has mind-boggling skill and speed. Picked this info up on their sites. Believe it, Fleming leaving OSU would not hurt them. And even scarier - take a look at who OSU has coming from their 2024 class - Composite 5 stars Smith and Graham. Many so-called 'experts" consider Jeremiah Smith to be the best HS receiver in the last 5 years

Okay so even if it doesn't hurt them (which is debatable) it greatly helps us. If nothing else he adds competition. People were celebrating adding a 3rd RB but don't want a WR that likely starts here. It's odd.

No one celebrated the 3rd RB. It was a matter of relief to have an experienced RB since the injury possibilities are high.
PSU already has a room full of WR. Bringing in a soon to be 23 year old, injury prone WR, who doesn't project to be a game changer is a different matter all together. It is evidence that fanboys are still getting moist over his 4 year old, failed 5 star rating. Does Justin Shorter still have eligibility? Let's bring him back to provide competition. LOL
Bringing in another veteran receiver only makes sense if the bottom has fallen out of the Cephus commit. Otherwise, only clear #1s at WR should be considered.
It's so amusing how this board erupts every time a former 4 or 5 star goes into the portal. We want him, we need him, he's better than what we have......blah, blah, blah

No he could be leaving because he's a starter and doesn't like the climate after 4 years.
LOL do you actually try to act like a moron? Because it's not nice to think of the alternative.
He could be leaving like because he doesn't want to be the #2 or #3 on a team with Harrison
Only he can say why he's leaving

Lots of people celebrated the 3rd RB
We have 2 elite RBs. We don't have any proven WRs.
I don't care what his star ranking is--I care that he has produced in college to a higher level than the guys in our room which means he add least bring a veteran presence that produces.
I don't see why Cephus prevents us from adding another WR--we needed multiple ones IMO. Just like we need additional DL help IMO.

It is a college football message board and this is the off season. Your schtick is a bit much. Of course the "fanboys" aka, fans are talking about this, there isn't much else to talk about. And you are surprised we are talking about a former #1 player from our state that recently picked OSU over us and now possibly wants to leave? I honestly don't care one way or the other but the schtick is old.

Also, I seem to remember a certain QB from Ohio State that was 3rd on the bench and transferred and did quite well. But in your world, if LSU was relying on a 3rd stringer, then they will never compete with OSU......
