The o.p. is right about one thing: If it's a linebacker, we're in deep shit. We had multiple linebackers out against Michigan and they ran the same play 6 straight times on their way to 49-10. We can't go to Jan Johnson because he's done with football.
Nobody will know until warmups, but if 33 is out there starting, we're probably going to struggle. If it's an o lineman, then it's also trouble.
No apology is owed. He claimed bad news. Would affect the Rose Bowl. It wasn't good. He made it sound ominous as if half the team would be left at home due to something nefarious. He chose to make it much more dramatic than it should have been.
It very well may be ominous. Franklin said players (plural) would not play. It could be very bad.
I don't like secrecy. I didn't like it under Joe, didn't like it under O'Brien, and I don't like it under Franklin.
