Very informative interview, by Beau, especially concerning his first two years of wrestling at Penn State.
Yeah the whole “you’re like, the first person to AA after zero state titles” thing was a bit off-putting. Pretty sure national prep champs do that on the regular….I don't wanna bash on anybody putting that effort in, but if you don't know that Wyoming Seminary is in PA, I'm struggling to listen to much more of your wrestling podcast.
Beau had some great tidbits and insights.

Won’t it just encapsulate everything about the comparison between PSU and Iowa if Bartlett overcomes Woods, especially if Woods is dragging ass/injured by NCAAs.Beau has jumped levels. I believe he can stand on top of the podium next season
Frankly I think he passes him by the dual meetWon’t it just encapsulate everything about the comparison between PSU and Iowa if Bartlett overcomes Woods, especially if Woods is dragging ass/injured by NCAAs.
So in other words, kinda like how Nick Lee left Eierman in the dust.Won’t it just encapsulate everything about the comparison between PSU and Iowa if Bartlett overcomes Woods, especially if Woods is dragging ass/injured by NCAAs.
Or C* and KemdogSo in other words, kinda like how Nick Lee left Eierman in the dust.
Bold prediction. Grip and the boys I’m sure are already predicting that Woods majors BeauFrankly I think he passes him by the dual meet
Both Moore brothers. The number of kids that were AA in college without a state title in HS would number in the hundreds if you go back far enough.Phil Davis
Almost inevitableWon’t it just encapsulate everything about the comparison between PSU and Iowa if Bartlett overcomes Woods, especially if Woods is dragging ass/injured by NCAAs.
Or if Woods loses his last year for gambling...have not heard anything in a while so I figured I start it up again.Won’t it just encapsulate everything about the comparison between PSU and Iowa if Bartlett overcomes Woods, especially if Woods is dragging ass/injured by NCAAs.

He may. Woods is amazing. But, I think Beau wood take him down 4 times if that happens.Beau Bartlett is not getting taken down three or more times by Woods.
??? Ty didn’t win 4?Both Moore brothers. The number of kids that were AA in college without a state title in HS would number in the hundreds if you go back far enough.
Building on Van Ness placing third and Murin fifth at NCAAs this past year after Murin had beaten SVN three times during the season.Won’t it just encapsulate everything about the comparison between PSU and Iowa if Bartlett overcomes Woods, especially if Woods is dragging ass/injured by NCAAs.
Scott and Josh. The ones who wrestled at PSU.??? Ty didn’t win 4?
And Teague got one too I thought.
Lol. Oops.Scott and Josh. The ones who wrestled at PSU.
Ty was damn good, but brothers Josh and Scott were more entertaining.Lol. Oops.
When someone says “Moore” and PA high school wrestling, my mind goes straight to Ty Moore.
Loved this post. And my favorite part about Beaus interview was his Bonnie story. My Bonnie story...
I asked her how to deal with a aspiring talented D1 athlete. Her words were, "Love her".

Sammy Brooks went from getting pinned by Bo Nickal in 38 seconds in their first match to getting pinned by Bo Nickal in 62 seconds in their second match.I'm trying to think if it has ever happened the other way around.
Hawkeye fans frequently claimed that their guys were closing the gap (Evans, Sorensen, Brooks, Nick Moore, etc.), but I don't recall it ever coming to pass.
I like Sammy's trajectory. He'll be beating Bo soon. ;-)Sammy Brooks went from getting pinned by Bo Nickal in 38 seconds in their first match to getting pinned by Bo Nickal in 62 seconds in their second match.
All that improvement in less than 2 months...
Baby steps.I like Sammy's trajectory. He'll be beating Bo soon. ;-)
Cory Clark and Jimmy G.I'm trying to think if it has ever happened the other way around.

I think he is one of the most engaging personalities on the team. He and SVN are going to light it up this year.I loved when he said that the light came on before his 5th place match at U23. He realized what he needed to do in order to get to a leg. That he has a bunch of ways to do it and he can pick whichever way he wants to. He said he went outside afterwards and was celebrating and yelling he was so excited. Not for 5th, but for being happy about the light coming on. I expect great things for him next season.
Cory Clark and Jimmy G.
Jimmy really put the wood to Clark, as a high school senior, so I think Clark improved quite a bit.I always felt that Jimmy's win in the dual was an upset, but yeah, that would be one,
