Black Knight Invitational - Sun, Nov 24

My Other Lions will be there today, and if I wasn't so busy I'd drive up to West Point myself.

But I did shoot the Columbia Indiana dual Thursday night, which Indiana came back to win, despite splitting 5 matches apiece and two Columbia pins, the biggest a Cesar Alvan pancake of 13th ranked Tyler Lillard, seen below.

Donny Pritzlaff is the new coach there and there's a very different feel to the team. New gym (thank God, significantly brighter), bigger crowds, more wrestlers taking risks.

Last year during this tournament BDavis got my attention early beating Lujan and Bergenc. Who will get our attention this year?? I think Ryder beating Soldano in R2 would certainly do that.. Also HWT Mirasola vs. Stoddard from Army in semis would be a great test. He’s a very big, athletic HWT.
I’d be very surprised if Ryder doesn’t beat Soldano. Soldano has regressed and I believe lost his starting job to Walsh who’s also in tourney

Curious whether anyone thinks Lucas Cochran, who has looked exceptional through a very small sample size this year, jumped a level or is still basically the guy who last year majored a lot of nonstarters in opens but still got majored by Michael Beard.

IIRC his match against Beard, he gave up the same move over and move (a go behind) I'm not sure he was prepared to wrestle that match that day (possible Brooks wasn't down to weight coming off Thanksgiving)

I also like Lucas continued improving in the spring and gained a ton of confidence from beating an All American heavyweight.
