That was at the Scuffle Nick's true frosh year before his redshirt was pulled. Gfeller was also a true frosh that year too so Nick obviously has improved faster than Gfeller who went 0-2 at NCAAs this year at 149.

Pretty sure the OP was talking about the match against Synon from Missouri when Nick was a HS Senior wrestling NLWC

All this talk about true freshman who went on to drastically improve makes me all the more excited for RBY .... to AA at that weight as a true (and undersized) freshman.

He has wins over:
Luke Pletcher
Micky Phillippi
Chaz Tucker

Avenged a loss to Thornton, almost avenged it against DeSanto (not going to get into the calls that match). I thought he wrestled Lizak pretty well also when he would clearly be disadvantaged on bottom.

Yeah I was - appreciate you clarifying.

Zach Synon wasn't your typical backup (2X qualifier but was 0-4 at NCAAs at 133 before bumping up and losing the spot to Eierman) and Nick was supposed to be a senior in high school but he was getting worked that match (down 5-0) before he got pinned all together.

Just shows the difference the experience of being in a college room, diet/weights program and just getting older can make.
