I prefer to listen to Julliard-trained dermatologists. As a board certified dermatologist, let me say that Dake is mostly a moron.
No. Please don’t fall into the trap of sensationalist headlines. The gist of the study is “sunscreen, like many other things we put on our skin, does rise to a level that is detectable in the blood. There’s absolutely no evidence to suggest that this is in any way harmful, but it meets the threshold to continue examining the safety and implications.”
Nothing in that study supports anything Dake says at all. And the news article about it is intentionally misleading and sensationalist.
Ah, the good old days when there was actually a functioning ozone barrier. Also, George Washington, Babe Ruth, King Leonidas, and others were a bunch of self-limiting dummies because they weirdly did not use sunscreen!![]()
I am with Dake on this one. It is true that some (very few) people cannot handle the sun. The rest of us should just use it in moderation and allow the vitamin D to do its thing. IMHO
I’m DEFINITELY one of the few. Just got back from the outer banks. I wore a wide brimmed hat, long sleeves, SPF 30, and sunglasses and sat under an umbrella all week, and I STILL got burned early and often. Must be the scandinavian heritage.I am with Dake on this one. It is true that some (very few) people cannot handle the sun. I’m so glad you get to be the playful grammar Nazi around here.
Myles grew up about 10 miles from where I live and has always been a really nice and courteous kid. His dad was another story, but after seeing him at a couple of local tournaments I would say that he has toned it down quite a bit.Whatever is going on, I will root for Dake against Chamizo. Dake generally seems more tolerable (well, on second thought ... maybe) than when he wrestled in college, and he has opened up his style to be more offensive over the years. Both guys like to talk some trash though.
I am surprised how easy-going Myles Martin seems. I had never heard him say much until the recent FLO interviews. Is it his father who is kind of a rabble-rouser at times?

Myles is the anti-Downey.The dad I saw at the NLo going crazy in the stands and his online stuff back then was a little cra cra....but I talked to him in passing at the psu vs tosu match in rec last time and we was very chill and nice.
Never met Myles but I've heard he is very nice and humble. That generally comes from a grounded home life.
Mostly me too ... when I take the time to do all of that. Reason for me are the wrongdoings of my youth when we didn't know better.I’m DEFINITELY one of the few. Just got back from the outer banks. Dake is a living, breathing life experiment. He is being used to prove even idiots can get an Ivy league diploma. If you can wrestle well enough.
If Coppertone called Kyle Dake tonight and offered him a $1 mil sponsorship, I bet he’d be smearing that shit on from head to toe.
That is one big pale sunscreened bag of money!
