From 05 to 09 I think we had like the 8th most wins in the country and two Big Ten titles. And prior to the scandal in 11 we were 8-1 with our only loss to the number 1 team in the country. It is an elite program and we are proud of it. No reason to be brought down. The reality is without those sanctions we'd be winning Big Ten titles and will be again soon.
I'm not saying you shouldn't be proud of your program. And I'm not saying you in particular. However, your board more than any I have visited throws more stones at other programs than any I know. I think it is an insecurity issue.

Dont' know about a 25 mile radius, but it has been published that there are more PSU grads in Allegheny county than pitt grads so that may translate into having more fans locally as well.

I never met Jerry Sandusky, Tim Curly, Graham Spanier, Gary Schultz, or Joe Paterno. I've never abused children. I don't owe anyone any remorse. I don't owe anyone an apology. It's delusional people like you who misplace this very easily understood concept because it makes you feel self righteous. I'm not going to walk around with a scarlet letter because I didn't do any of these terrible things you attribute to every PSU fan and alumni.

Amazing as your post makes you feel...it is dead wrong. What happened in State College doesn't make me feel superior to you or any other PSU grad. It makes me feel sad for you. How DARE PSU fans be against the rush to judgment by the BOT, when to date, Paterno was not only never charged, but PRAISED for his actions. The Freeh report and Freeh's reputation has been repeatedly crushed. C/S/S have not had a trial or been convicted of anything, and probably never will be. How DARE we want the BOT to wait to make an informed decision, instead of rushing to a poor decision to please the ignorant masses. Now that the BOT's actions were clearly in error, how DARE we hold them responsible!
Your post is dead wrong. The people who have a problem with the fan base had a hatred that pre-dated the Sandusky scandal. These people ignore the present day information that should change their opinion, yet they hold on to the false narrative.
You need to get out of Pittsburgh. I travel often for work, and most people I encounter are supportive of Paterno and Penn State. Just because everyone at your weekly Lair meeting feels a certain way, doesn't mean everyone else does.
