149- R32 - #3 Shayne Van Ness VS #30 Gabe Willochell (WYO)
Period 1:
#4 Paneiro Johnson loses to #29 J. Gioffre (UVA) in a marathon match before Shayne's. Wow! That took forever, Uff da! It's time for some Shayne Van Yess! Here we go! Mesenbrink is coming up on mat 8. Let's make this quicker than the last match! And FINALLY, here we go. Van Ness shoots, but no luck. He keeps working, but Willochell fights him off. Willochell is another long & lanky wrestler. Van Ness presses forward & has Willochell on the edge, but Willochell circles back in. Willochell shoots, Van Ness counters & gets a leg. He shelves it & clamps down on the head, then finishes off the TD, 3-0. Van Ness is riding heavy. Van Ness looks for a turn & Willochell fights for the escape, 3-1. Willochell shoots & gets to a leg. Van Ness sprawls back & then works behind for another TD, 6-1. Van Ness rides out the period.
Period 2:
Willochell takes down. Van Ness is riding tough. Willochell counters & is looking for a reversal, Van Ness counters & takes Willochell to his back. Van Ness has 4 swipes & is looking for the fall & there it is!!!

Easy tech for Mitch. Nice fall for SVN. Im glad Shayne wasn't sweaty. That could have been hairy for a second. Great start!

Mesenbrink shoots & quickly gets a leg. Amaker is bouncing on 1-leg on the edge. Mesenbrink drags him back in bounds & finishes the TD, 3-0. Mesenbrink breaks Amaker down & gets him bellied out. Mesenbrink locks up a tilt & adds 4 NF, 7-0. Mesenbrink is hammering on Amaker from top & goes over 1-min RT. There's a riding time clock now!!! Huzzah!!! Mesenbrink has Amaker in all kinds of trouble & Amaker gets a stall warning. He's having trouble getting off his belly. Mesenbrink goes over 2-min RT. Mesenbrink gets another point for something, 8-0. Mesenbrink hits another tilt & adds 4 NF more, 12-0. Mesenbrink rides out the period. 12-0 Mesenbrink, +2:27 RT

Mesenbrink takes down. Cael & Casey are in his corner. He gets to his feet & gets the escape, 13-0. Mesenbrink shoots, gets a leg & finishes off the TD for the 16-0 Tech.

Honestly, should Teemer even be wrestling? He's a shell of himself.
You learn a lot in the first round, my two biggest takeaways so far:
