Football Defense powers Penn State to 38-10 win over SMU in CFP First Round

Not better--he was ahead of him because of experience--read

Experience that made him better. You are admitting it and fighting it at the same time Loado. You do realize that don't you? Is that from the Loado school of logic and reasoning?

Not better--it made them keep him in case of an injury so they kept him higher on the depth chart since they were going to use him for gadget plays--almost every Penn State fan knew that Grunk was brought in to be our "next" QB--thankfully we got lucky and Drew is helping us by staying delaying that a year

Yes and no. Not a bad idea to get the new back up some throws on friendly turf. But bleeding the clock should be the first goal.
I really think it was just the poor execution, he hates that crap

Yup, you guys could be right.

Personally, I just want to get this thing over with right now...take the big W...get outta there with no injuries...the more quickly the better.

The problem is the lack of accountability for doing stupid things.

Exactly. So we can get by SMU and probably Boise State. What then? Not being ready for the snap, missing tackles, and making stupid personal foul penalties is not going to get it done against Notre Dame or Georgia.

What's the goal? NY6 Bowl or an NC? The latter will take a much higher standard of play.

Once again many on here prove why this is the worst fanbase ever.
Just because people call out coaching and bad plays doesn’t mean we are the worst fan base. Have you ever sat in the stands at an Ohio state game when they are losing? Just as ridiculous as us. Watching our offense in the first 20 minutes makes you understand why we lose big games. You can’t play like crap and get away with it with top tier teams. You need 4 quarters of your best game. We usually don't do that.

Every game is different….not sure why people can’t figure that out. For example, our offense looked great against Oregon, that didn’t carry over this game. Our defense looked terrible against Oregon, that didn’t carry over today. How we do one game is not indicative of how we will play the next game.

I need to get in touch with my alien overlords ... I swear you were on the list to be abducted so we didn't have to be annoyed by you any longer. Even aliens make mistakes.

If I remember correctly, you didn't even understand the basics of the bowl and playoff structure ... you thought we'd get a bowl game AFTER we participated in, and were eliminated from, the playoffs. Let's slow our roll just a bit about what we are and are not capable of, 'kay, pumkin?

We just played like poo and still curbstomped a playoff opponent. Don't worry, be happy.

Per AWS: Good fanbases must either have low standards, or keep their standards to themselves. And of course coaches can do no wrong since they are not on the field of play.
Per AWS: good fan bases appreciate a 38-10 win in the first round of the playoffs. They don’t spend most of the game bitching about a coach going for it on 4th and short, saying their coach is dumb and wears a dunce cap. They also don’t point out every poor play and act like that’s going to cost them the next game. They also don’t claim that their team only won because the other team was bad. With fans like that, who needs enemies?

Did the first 20 minutes of the game cause us to lose? No. And very seldom does any team play four quarters at their best…that’s not how sports work.

Grab some popcorn if Tennessee leads at any point this evening.

As usual, you exaggerate. The things I see are not different from game to game. They have been symptomatic of every game, and Franklin teams in particular:
  1. Celebrations after making a routine play.
  2. Stupid personal foul penalties.
  3. Missing tackles.
We don't need to go into the dubious decisions from the sidelines. That has been all over the map. But the above are consistent deficiencies that have not shown progress.

These things don't lead to championships. If your goal is to get to a nice bowl game then maybe you are doing enough. But that's not growth. It's not improvement. It doesn't lead to your being the best.
