Denver just blew a two score lead with 7 minutes left and ran a bad 4th down play.

Being upset that PSU has blown double digit leads in the last qtr, 2 years in a row against OSU is not whining. :)

No, and it's quite normal for sports fans to be upset by things such as this. But hey, such reaction gives others an opening for sanctimony, something they cherish even more than they would a victory.

That's because andy reid is a choker. wait...he was the coach that won it? what the hell?

could it be that these games are decided by razor thin margins or something and every hyperbolic comment proclaiming dramatic far-reaching conclusions after a tight game is actually completely ridiculous? Nah of course not this sounds like something alex jones would say

I've come to the conclusion that it is not just the number of points scored that matters, it is the order in which they are scored.

I am convinced if we had come back from 2 scores down to lose by 1, the board would be singing the praises of the grit and determination of the staff and players. We would be talking about making great adjustments and just coming up short.

Coaches react and adjust. Momentum shifts. We also lost a 2 score 2nd quarter lead, but no one seems to care about that.

I wonder if OSU fans think Urban sucks because he didn't discover that we were vulnerable to the screen in the first quarter.

The "4th quarter collapse" is all the rage, but this loss was the sum total of poor execution and lapses throughout the game.

This sounds a lot like whining to me.

Correct. Someone who gets it. Study this post everyone.

Happens in the pros too, but don't confuse the whiners.

Yes there is a difference. Not really hard to understand why.

Do you think expectations change over time or do they remain static?
Lax, I don't feel like playing 20 questions.

If we are talking about the expectations of the fans, then I'll agree- losing a lead is a tougher way to lose because you're believing you're going to win.

If we're talking about actual staff and team performance, then I don't see any difference whatsoever.

Do you expect the staff to call the same game up 21 and down 21? Since you don't see any difference what so ever I assume you expect them to call the same game in either scenario. This staff does not perform well with late leads against top shelf competition for whatever reason. Franklin's even come out and said it.

Do you expect to score touchdowns on drives that start on your one yard line? Do you expect to score touchdowns on drives that start on your opponents 1 yard line? Is failure to drive 99 yards for a td the same as failing to drive 1 yard for one?

Didn't you guys see Franklin on the Denver sidelines last night?

What's lost in all this is Keenum had an easy game winning TD on 3rd down and overthrew Thomas. There should never have been a 4th down play. I can see why the Vikes went in another direction. Instead of both teams being 3-1, KC now in control of the division.
