Last night was the first time I’ve seen him at that weight.

I have learned over the years that when PSU guys sometimes look slow or sloppy all it means is that they are working very hard in the room. With next week being the last week of classes before finals, I bet they have been working very hard in the room and they will lessen the load finals week.

Nah... it was on the road vs a lower tier team. It’s hard getting jacked up for that. A few guys might have been a step slower last night. I think Bo’s only challenge will be being able to move guys around like he has in the past.

197 guys are harder to pin. Bo looked plenty fast to me, if somewhat uninspired. Then again, Bo “only” majored Phipps last year at home too. Credit to the kid—he’s pretty good!

Byers noted that Nickal looked "frustrated" against Phipps last night, because Phipps chose not to engage and wrestled to keep the match close (if you can describe a 10 point loss as close). Someone else mentioned that Nickal likely could have won by TF, but wanted to hit a big move instead and just couldn't pull it off.

Exactly, he took him down at will, but was attempting to turn and throw him for a good chunk of time. I have little doubt that if Bo needed a TF for the team he gets it with plenty of time left in the match.

Nickal appears really solid to me at this weight. Yes, he was looking for the pin but was frustrated. He's bonused every thus far. Don't see anyone really challenging him. Perhaps Moore can give him a match or keep it close.

Short answer...no. Still has that internal gyroscope too. Anyone see the subtle body position adjustments last evening? He has a feel like few others possess...and a few of them are Lions.

2 down, 8 more starters left for "worried about" threads.

And its barely December - We'll get a 3rd or 4th during the Scuffle.

Don't forget Teasdale and "Where's Manville ??..."

Countdown until we get a "He's Homesick...." thread in 4...3...2....

Phipps narrowly missed winning at AAA 195 in PIAA championships of 2016; was undefeated on the year until losing 1-0 in finals to Jakobsen of Stroudsburg. Phipps is no slouch.

Maybe Bo had the flu. Seems to be going around.....the midwest

Maybe Bo could go and sweat it out in the sauna?

The way Bo has been wrestling in the room against certain guys nobody touch him !!!! He will put you on your back from any position and you are not getting out....

I think we will see a slightly different Bo all year. Maybe a tad slower, but he will remain fast for the weight. I fully expect him to have fewer pins for the reasons noted above, hence won't threaten Nolf & Spencer for the Hodge. Who knows Shak might enter that conversation, granted his total body of work is probably too slight to win it. I also think Bo may have a lot more 3-5 point victories against really strong 197s. Time will tell. For his body type I think 184 was optimal. I still see him winning the national championship, albeit slightly less dominant.

I'm convinced this version of Psu_rings is not the real spyker.

The writing style has a similar 'ring' to it.

I have wondered when and who he will return as, that was an addiction I don't see him kicking cold turkey. For a while I thought he was 21Guns who has also disappeared.
