So you arrive on receivers and yank their shoulder pads all night and get babysat by crooked big ten officials…

doesn’t it concern you that those calls will to the opposite way vs osu ?

I’ll take it but not exactly impressed by what I witnessed. Seems pretty much like the same crap as the last two yrs. Still didn’t crack 100 yds rushing. Clifford trying to stay in the pocket and looked very uncomfortable all night. How many drops tonight? Hope Allar plays a lot next week.

Lots of things to complain about but OP must not have been able to see through his own tears. Pretty sure it doesn’t feel like a loss.

Boy brother. I know you were here last week talking up your team. This group of fans have been through enough bad officiating(against Michigan and OSU in particular) you could make a movie. Minus our qb tripping over his d*ck, it really should not have been that close. That said, not impressed with your clock management both with the lead and behind late in the game. You'll blame the refs, we've done it, but you know its the teams fault, it almost always is.

Yea it feels like a win because it was. To win on the road when you didn’t play your best is awesome. No to OSU game.

Didn’t get enough validation the last time you were here, so you had to come back?

Purdue WR's were slow and small. This is 2022 and the officials let contact go as long as the DB's are looking back for the ball and as long as the DB doesn't blatantly knock the WR off his route, like the Purdue DB did to the PSU WR on the 3rd down play in the 4th quarter that was the most blatant PI of the game and wasn't called.

;) ;)

Yeah, that looked like calf roping at a rodeo!

First games are always a crap shoot. Most teams look nothing like it in week 2. Would've liked more pass rush and dline penetration. Online looked better but need to get run game going. Diaz was not real aggressive which will probably change.

Don’t forget three penalties on same play by Purdue. Both teams had tight coverage and got away with some close ones. One horrible play, but kudos to Sean for being clutch. If Yurcich dialed up the uptempo calls that closed both halves instead of the slow, constant audible changes they ran most of the game, Sean and PSU O would have thrived. Purdue QB is very good and gets rid of ball fast and accurate. Great game. I respectfully suggest video counseling for OP during Holiday Weekend.

It reminded me of Georgetown basketball during the heyday of the Big East or Miami football during their run of success at about the same time -- keep playing aggressive and dare the refs to call a foul/penalty on every single play knowing that they won't. It is to be expected that Diaz brought the Miami defensive philosophy to PSU with him.

That was a great win last night.
Penn State was playing a highly motivated, veteran team, with an experienced qb on the road in the season opener.
Penn State won without their "A" game and overcame a ton of focus mistakes to get a good win in a hostile environment. Let's not pretend Purdue is some terrible team, because they aren't they are team that is likely to win 7-8 games and go to a decent mid-level bowl with an upside of possibly winning their division. They played great and Penn State still won.....That matters.
I'm not sure what you people want.... 49-13 blowouts over late in the second quarter? What fun is that?

Purdue's WR's may have been small and slow, but they were "wide open" almost the entire game. And, yet, we could hardly get separation.
yeah guess he didnt see all that holding

Nope just 48-14, that score will live forever. 😉

Maybe that's by design. When we did get separation our QB the the ball 10 yards overhead of the receiver into the Purdue DBs hands.

Aren’t you the guy claiming to respect opponents who beat Purdue? And claiming PSU fans would only make it excuses if they lost? How about just saying “good game” and “PSU was the better team, congrats” and following through on your bluster?

Purdue is likely to win 9 or 10 games, not 7 or 8.

We'll it must feel like a big loss to an condescending "ass clown" that can't come to grips with the 10th straight loss to Penn State. Otherwise why are you here?

Well…I wasn’t particularly thrilled with everything last night, but I feel much better about the win after enjoying your sour grapes and salty tears!

Thanks!!!

Yep - here we are the second morning after and we remain at 1-0. Bet that lasts all season. It was a good win. Not dominating but certainly character and grit. That is how winning teams are built and 18-22 year olds learn to overcome.
