Where's the Twitter or Instagram evidence of this? The peanut butter Oreo cookies I had yesterday were delicious. That's my contribution.
I've heard this said before, but I don't take it as truth. Not a shot at Brian ...Last year Cael wanted Nickal to stay down at 174 and Bo said "no". If what you say about Suriano has a ring of truth, I doubt it's as cut and dry as your definitive "no". It most certainly would NOT have to be a showstopper for the kid's extremely promising Penn State career.

Last summer we were looking at a logjam in the middle weights:
149 - taken
157 - taken
165 - Cenzo returning, or Hall coming in
174 - Bo
Not to mention the annual hopefulness of Rasheed somewhere
Then
184 - Cutch
197 - Cassar (at best he might return to health in time for the spring season) and Stout
If Bo wanted to move up, and he could beat Cutch, why would that be viewed poorly by the staff? Hall coming off redshirt and winning it all at 174 made the scenario a perfect storm. If he had struggled we might be having a different discussion. But Cassar was a huge health risk, and Stout was not ready. 197 was a huge huge hole that Cutch filled admirably. The team lineup was better with Bo moving up.
Yes, if Bo certified at 174 that was good for an uncertain year. But the team was clearly better with the shift.
125 is entirely different obviously. I don't think the greater fan base thought Suriano would hold 125 for four years. He was obviously a big 125, and was lean as hell. If we got the right 125 behind him I could easily see him bumping. If he cannot hold 125 and be healthy this is a moot point. The question then becomes who mans the weight. The Keener addition clearly implies that we had Suriano penciled in at 125 for the next season. It's a 1-year bandaid at 133. It's 2019 that is the bigger question.
But we'll see.
Does anyone seriously think if Suriano has to forfeit a year of eligibility he is transferring to Rutgers (or Iowa for that matter)? His goal was to be a four-time champ. Now he is going to resign himself to be a two-time champ at best? A place like Iowa State would make more sense and it doesn't make much sense.
Why would he have to forfeit a year of eligibility? He would have to sit out a year but he has a redshirt
year available.

Big10 transfer rules stipulate regardless of release status if Nick were to transfer to a fellow Big10 school he must sit out 1 academic year and forfeit a year's eligibility. So in 2018-19 Nick would be allowed to compete for Rutgers, and he would have 3 years to use his 2 remaining years of eligibility. Why would he have to forfeit a year of eligibility? He would have to sit out a year but he has a redshirt

Pardon me, but could you tell me when the schedule will be released?
Already told you. That is a Big10 rule. Why would he have to forfeit a year of eligibility? He would have to sit out a year but he has a redshirt

This reminds me of going to Rutgers matches, where the fans deride referees for correctly following college rules, of which the fans are unaware. Then I try to explain the rules to someone near me and they look at me dumbfounded and ask "really?". No, I'm just making it up.
That happens at EVERY school that I have been to, including PSU.

I think this style of explanation will be needed: (20 second video)Ever try explaining the rules to the Nebraska announcers?
This was one of the big reasons Nick was/is considering Rutgers. This is good news for PSUHmmm Tyler Graff is leaving the fledgling NJ wrestling club for VT. Can't help with their lightweight recruiting, I'm guessing....

Frank will probably be a good influence on Graff, who has all the talent but can't close the deal.Hmmm Tyler Graff is leaving the fledgling NJ wrestling club for VT. Can't help with their lightweight recruiting, I'm guessing....

Im not hiding. Just pass on info when I have it. The person who originally told me (again this is someone on the Rutgers staff) went from saying its a done deal. Suriano is coming to Rutgers. He is now saying we are still working on it.Glad to see you're still among us . . . after the 16-page masterpiece that followed your initial disclosure, I was worried you might have gone Steve Bartman on us.
Just to add to this. The day he called me and thought it was a done deal he was happy as could be. This time when I talked to him he was no where near as excited. The way I am thinking this one goes is Suriano stays at PSUIm not hiding. Just pass on info when I have it. They are trying to get him eligible immediately. I have no clue how they could pull that off but if they do he insists he will be wrestling for Rutgers next year.
If your staff member source truly believes that's possible it's probably no wonder Rutgers hasn't closed the deal because the B1G is pretty cut and dried on intra-conference transfers for already matriculated student-athletes, and it's not even a restriction the releasing team could waive. Assuming the accuracy of everything you've said, the most likely explanation to square your source''s initial excitement and subsequent sobriety is that he didn't understand the rules and now can't deliver.Im not hiding. Nothing around Rec Hall in regards to Nick NOT coming back. The 2 guys i ask laughed about it....This was one of the big reasons Nick was/is considering Rutgers. This is good news for PSU

Nick as a representative of the NLWC has been working the wrestling camps he was scheduled to work. .
I was told Nick has been at several camps through the summer. The people telling me were a wrestling alum who is close to McCutcheon, and several other folks who have regular contact with the program. This is great news if true. Have you verified he's actually been working camps with NLWC? I don't doubt you it's just that it seems from everything I've read he's no where to be found.
That is all very true. I have no doubt that discussions get done behind the scenes from intermediaries. Rutgers talks to a friend of the Suriano family after being approached by the friend. Of course it is all hypotheticals too.I was told Nick has been at several camps through the summer. The point of my post was rather simple. The kid is still a Penn State student athlete. Rutgers would need permission from Penn State to discuss with Nick the possibilities of transfering to Rutgers. Unless everybody has come to the conclusion it is time for each party (Nick and PSU) to go their separate ways it makes not a nickel's worth of sense to think Nick has been told hey go see what you can work out with Rutgers and let us know what you are going to do. We will keep a spot open for you just in case.
I am just saying.
The only way Rutgers has had a conversation with Nick about transferring is if Penn State has given them permission or if Nick has withdrawn from Penn State.
Nick has not withdrawn and despite not being on campus Nick as a representative of the NLWC has been working the wrestling camps he was scheduled to work. The possibility that Rutgers has been granted permission to actively recruit Nick is so small it is in the preposterous realm.
But Rutgers can talk to Nick's dad all they want, right?I am just saying.
