Don't shoot the messenger.

Speaking for myself, I respectfully disagree. I hadn't heard of the rumor until Willie made it national. As I understand it, the rumor was on some NJ wrestling facebook page, which I never knew existed.

what you don't know is not my fault.

You certainly made the effort to SPREAD the rumor and did NOTHING to find out if it was true or not and finding that out would be part of your job description wouldn't it? IMHO you are doing a first rate job at discrediting FLO as a news source.

The guy goes on Flo and and makes vidoes where he makes fun of message board posters and trolls YouTube requesting DMCA takedowns for copyrights that Flo doesn't own. How Flo hasn't fired him is beyond me. He's third rate, at best.

Actually, it's not beyond me. Flo is an an awful company, so guys like Willie fit right in.

LITERALLY. literally tweeted 'i have no idea if they're true.'

so obviously, no comment on the veracity o_O
The number of things you don't know are true greatly outnumbers the number of things you don't know are true yet nevertheless provide unwarranted oxygen to, and everyone's reaction to it was predictable and foreseeable.

 you said i made no comment on the veracity.

idk how you could even have a rebuttal. it's right in the tweet. just say 'sorry' and move on.

the fact that you think people should be apologizing to you is bizarre at best. Even more shocking is that you don't understand why anyone would have an issue with what you did.

Sorry, but that's not accurate. Flo does own the rights to the NCAA finals videos that were taken down. Whether we like that or not, doesn't change the fact.

How has Flo not fired him? Name someone better at his job.

tell me something i don't know.

You clearly do not have the time/willingness/ability to think about this subject critically and construct a thoughtful response to some valid points made here. I'm out. You keep doing your Twitter gossip & sensationalism thing, and I'll keep looking for wrestling news backed by sources and professional conduct. To each their own.

That's not accurate. Flo owns a license to portions of the videos, not a right to the entire video, and it's the latter that's required to file a DMCA takedown for the entire video. For a real world analogue, only the landlord can file an eviction notice, not the renter. Like here, the landlord is probably fine with whatever the renter is doing so for practical purposes it's a moot point.

They own the rights to stream the highlights of those matches, and it's why they don't have the whole match on their site. Flo does not own the copyrights for the videos Willie requested DMCA takedowns for.

It's not about who is better, it's about the fact that both Willie and Pyles are amateurs who wouldn't know professionalism if it knocked on their door in broad daylight. I don't like Guns any more than the next guy, but when they dedicated an entire webcast to making fun of an internet message board poster I would have fired both of them for being the clowns that they are. Guns, if nothing else, is a passionate fan of wrestling and the exact kind of customer Flo relies on and these two idiots decided to use their job at Flo to ridicule him publicly. Again, I would say I don't know how they still have a job, but Flo is a clown show and it doesn't surprise me that they still employ those two amateurs.

You're right on the first count, as Tikk pointed out -- but that doesn't change the fact that the videos were illegal. Would people seriously feel better about it if Willie had notified the NCAA instead of going directly to YouTube?

Regarding the 2nd point: you just fired nearly every sports radio host in America, who routinely insult anonymous callers, often quite aggressively. And, no, Flo is not a clown show -- venture capitalists don't throw millions at clowns. They're simply not your taste.

When someone posts about a rumor that had been around for months.....and clearly states that it is an unverified rumor....how you react to that rumor is entirely on you.....Nobody else.

A rumor that no one was aware of until it was posted here so obviously it wasn't well publicized or we would of been talking about it already. Spreading a rumor can be just as malicious as starting one, in fact there is even a name for it, its called rumor mongering.

Im not sure the true "owner" of the videos would have taken them down without the intervention from Flo. There had been finals videos on YouTube for years.

First, I’ll say I always enjoy Smalls however he weighs in and I’m glad he is around. From what I see he is knowledgeable, rarely brings negativity, and uses humor. We need more of that as opposed to the shoot everyone you don’t like and keep them from our board approach.

However, in this case I am with Tikk, Slush, Tiger, and others in that I dislike rumors and innuendo. Not saying I haven’t spread a rumor myself before or gossiped, but I actually work hard at trying not to gossip and spread rumors. Don’t see much good coming of it. Been bit by it myself.

Therefore, I think this might have died down if Smalls had just said “probably wasn’t the best idea to tweet that”, or some such thing. I don’t believe it was done maliciously, its just that to many (including me), gossip and rumor mongering is very destructive and is not “ok” or “not that bad”.

We all have our blind spots (I’ve been known to get a bit irritated with drivers on the road....still working on it), but hopefully this is a learning experience for some.

Did you just pull a RVW and wake up out of a twenty year coma?
Hate to break it to you, but the guys on TV and the internet now-adays aren't exactly moonlighting for "Spotlight."

If I owned a business and two of my employees publicly ridiculed a customer I would fire them and I bet you would, too. At least I would hope you would.

Are you equating 21guns internet persona with a paying customer?? Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but I'm not sure how to respond to this if I'm not.

And technically, they are plus 1 on the business side with their actions since I opted in on the new FLO lifetime subscription plan after that episode and Guns' parents have given him until August to get a job and clean up the basement or they are taking his card away. So it's bonus time for the boys - a Bud pounder for Willie (unfortunately I can't support his Skoal habit - Copenhagen only here), and "A Plan" for CP.

Yes, Guns is almost surely a Flo customer. Anyone who posts on wrestling forums is at the very least a potential customer. I would fire anyone who publicly makes fun of a customer or a potential customer.

It's the most basic tenant of being a professional and running a business. Don't insult your customers.

If you are trying to avoid rumors, innuendos or made up falsehoods in today's media - any media outlet - you have no where to go.

Count me among those that didn't think Willie's words (tweet) were all that horrible. Again, appears I'm wired differently than some, but when I read "rumor", and "No idea low legit it is", from his tweet, that's what I focused on, then waited for the next bit of news. After all the fake news of past years, it was time to wait-and-see, not overreact. jmo.

Here's the tweet:
Rumor is 2 months old, but Rutgers/NJ fans stepping up their 'Suriano to RU' talk. No idea how legit it is.

Willie's also shown up here to participate in this thread...good on him, imo. And he tweeted the following yesterday;
"Some people can't handle the tweeting of rumors. Geesh. Noted."

I think what JLowe did is much worse (if bad at all) than what willie did.

I hate rocket mortage and t mobile because of flo but not flo.

Neither are good for you...you know that, right? :)

The worst is Willie didn't make anything up! The rumor was out there, he acknowledged it and even said he wasn't sure to its validity. He didn't mislead anyone.

There are things to be mad at Flo for, for instance, stream quality, and taking down NCAA matches from YouTube. This is bwing mad for the sake of being mad.

One of a long list of vices I'm going to quit sometime soon...at this point I'm only sure that it will go before the drinking;)
As someone who quit 7+ years ago, I can say with a certain amount of certainty that quitting SUCKS! I still miss it to this day. Can't walk into a wrestling room without wanting a dip. So I will say good luck!;)

Good choice (though I was joking a little, who am I to judge?).

Drinking, done the right way, could help you live longer...;)

Agree, a lot of people overreacted to the 'rumor' and now want to blame Willie.

If this board has taught us anything it's that any time we see a rumor connected to Rutgers, it's best to take it with a grain of salt.
