Totally agree. If they know that he's going to be the guy then they might as well let him get his feet wet. These kids only get 4 years and sitting half of one is pointless.

I’m willing to admit my optimism on Alex took a big hit there. Just low energy, and still not much set up to attacks. Cut might be a factor: he was wrecking dudes if that caliber previously.
Not part of this thread but just read the Richie Figs hurt his leg/knee 41 seconds into his match and had medical default out of the Daktronics Open. Apparently hurt it, tried to continue but was taken down twice and the defaulted. (Per Mineo's twitter).
Obviously it's early and most negative reactions have some knee-jerk element to them. That said, not sure how well I can handle another season of Facundo, if he is in fact the guy. I really enjoy watching Kasak, which makes it all the worse for me. Be interesting to see how things play out.

Yeah, he'll probably be in some tight matches against good kids because he's good defensively. Maybe even win one or two.
But Kasak is a whole different animal l, even if they are wrestling close in the room which means nothing.

Kasak much cleaner takedowns but also has a bunch of pinning combos. Alex has nothing on top position
