You say that like the Redskins are some dominant team. Both of these teams stink...the Skins just a bit less right now. In reality, all the Skins did was dramatically worsen their draft pick in April.Really nothing better than watching the preseason #32 power rankings team clinch the division in Chip the Genius' house
Hail to the Redskins

Either team was going to get smoked by Seattle in the playoffs.
I'm an eagles fan who was cheering for the Redskins. Obviously the Eagles would have below zero chance of winning a playoff game, so now they have a higher draft pick that Kelly can waste. And anyone saying the Skins have a chance and anything can happen are only kidding themselves. You say that like the Redskins are some dominant team. Firing Chip is the easy part so who you going to hire?? And who will do the hiring?? JL kept Howie around for a reasonMeaty post, Tom! You stated exactly why I think Chip's gone. He's a good egg and I think he realizes his situation is now untenable.
I think the players have given up on his system and no amount of window dressing and focus on "execution" will change that.
The roster was poorly built/maintained and the league DCs totally moved Chip's cheese and he had no answer. Zip, nada, zilch.
Some guys just aren't cut out for the NFL and I think Chip now realizes he's in that category.
I never said dominant, but they're good enough to win 9 games and the division. Anything can happen in the playoffs, but hey, whatever makes you feel better
Time's Yours. How is that change everyone demanded, working out? Andy is 9-5, having won 8 in a row. But, but, but he's arrogant and stubborn, just like every successful NFL coach. Andy never lost a team. I'd take Andy back, in a heartbeat. Feel free to disagree. I don't give one damn. Chip is a bullshit artist. This is the truest post I've read all day. Both these teams are just awful, but the Skins players are at least trying.
I'm so tired of seeing the Eagles offense repeatedly let down Sam Bradford with drops, mistakes and penalties. He's the only guy trying on offense. It's become a bit of a joke to watch.
The Eagles will probably lose tonight...like any of us who watched the last 14 games would have predicted. Chip's assembled a group of small time, mistake prone players. He let go guys who were the heart and soul of this team and a 6-10 season is what's left.
Chip will be back next year based on a flukey victory against New England, but I fear his roster moves have set the team back several years.
I love Andy Reid, but there comes a time when change is needed for both sides. I think the Eagles franchise reached that time with Andy Reid. He's certainly better for it. The Eagles are debatable.Time's Yours. How is that change everyone demanded, working out? Andy is 9-5, having won 8 in a row. They play the NFC and AFC North next year. They're going to get smashed.I love Andy Reid, but there comes a time when change is needed for both sides. I think the Eagles franchise reached that time with Andy Reid. He's certainly better for it. The Eagles are debatable.
I share your fears about Kelly and his bag of snake oil. If he's around next season, we'll learn a lot about his ability/desire to adapt his schemes. The same crap and they'll be lucky to win 4-5 games.
Yes. For some reason I'm able to overlook this inconvenient truth.Someone just told me the skins did not beat a team with a winning record. is that true?
Maybe. They also have some pieces that could come back and help lead a big turnaround. Bradford is first in that line. They play the NFC and AFC North next year. They're going to get smashed.

I think that with a new starting guard or 2, the OL will be majorly improved. That buys them another year to develop some depth to replace aging guys...Peters being the exception, but they drafted Johnson to eventually replace him.I guess there are a few players that can lead them out of the current mess but I think we're looking at a 3 year re-build. Which, it seems to me, has to be done with a new GM/HC in place.
The Eagles need 5 OL, 2 WRs, 2 LBs and 2 CBs... pretty long shopping list.
At the very least, the DC is history.
