Most of us realize the 3-0 start against a soft schedule was deceiving, but this team has been downright atrocious in its last several games.

The most worrying trend has been Wentz. He has an NFL-worst QBR in his past several games. The offense has had some injuries, but are we to think that the QB carousels in Cleveland and Chicago have better surrounding talent? Is the fact that we're even making those comparisons telling?

I'm now really worried that Wentz may not survive the 3-4 seasons this team needs to rebuild its skill position and line talent on offense. It's really an ugly looking scenario.

Well, at least they didn't mortgage the future to move up for Wentz

:)

Ugh. I couldn't watch today and I'm glad I didn't. Did wentz look bad?

Same -- I had a conflict that prevented me from watching the game. Probably a lucky thing, as it sounds as though the game was rather ugly for the Birds.

Wentz appears to be in a bad mechanics funk. He's consistently missing high, leading to interceptions. He threw three today and could have had a few more.

If they're at risk of damaging his psyche, then at what point do they let him regain some perspective from the sideline and throw Chase Daniel to the wolves?

Kinda seems the trouble all began when a certain LT went out for the year on suspension. From that point forward, it has just gotten worse.

Not having reliable receivers hasn't helped (and Ags critical mental midget miscues are near legendary in their stupidity). Then there were the fumbles at critical moments of likely won football games (detroit and dallas) and you can see the psyche begin to waver.

Wentz was calm and comfortable early not just because the opposition wasn't nasty (for instance, look at how well he performed against a very very good dallas D, even withou OL help), but because there was a sense of calm about the team and coaches.

When players make critical mistakes at critical moments, a team that is borderline at best is not going to overcome them. I do not blame Wentz at all and do blame the coaches for not having a better game plan that suits the young man. But most important, they need a LT who can protect the kid and settle the line.

I would not sit him... he strikes me as beoing a tough kid who will handle this and get better for it.

At this point, it's about learning, not winning. imo, of course.
