Not posting the link but I'd have to say a healthy Mich team is better. Mich lost that game because Jimmy went alt-conservative with an injured QB. I was routing OSU but I think Mich was the better team and could be Bama in a close game.

Don't think so, very flawed, can't pass! Barrett while fast is not a burner, has lost a step. Michigan or Penn State are better bets. Michigan can pass with Speight back, lack of a mobile quarterback is their main weakness.

I agree. UM would likely give the better game to Bama. I think UM is better than OSU but since they lost it all becomes message board fodder.

I'm with you. UM would give Alabama a tough game.

I'm just not all that impressed with Ohio State this year. Maybe next, but this year, I think they would get killed by 'Bama. I would be surprised if OSU didn't get shut out by 'Bama. OSU's offense is pretty pedestrian.

When Speithe (sp?) is healthy, Michigan is a much more well rounded football team.

A good D can and does shut tOSU down. Penn State did it, Michigan did it (14 points for tOSU came from interceptions and Jimmah's antics gave tOSU the ball within the 5), and MSU did it. In short tOSU won't be able to score on Alabama's D and will be absolutely demolished if they face Alabama in the playoffs or NC game.

A few years ago everyone said the same thing about OSU going against Bama and they beat Bama. Don't under estimate Meyer and OSU..Bama offense isnt all that.

As an OSU fan if Bama played OSU the Buckeyes would be a heavy underdog, but so would most teams that would play Alabama if the game was played today. I will say the things that give OSU the biggest chance are that OSU does have a championship quality defense, Alabama can take OSU too lightly although I think that 2014 is too fresh in their memories to do that, and as in any game at any time- it's not always about who is the best team, it's about who is better that day. The reason upsets happen.

A few years ago OSU had a better online, Zeke Elliott a few receivers who could stretch the field and a hot QB who no one had any tape on. This season OSU has a very simplistic pass offense and a QB who just isn't that accurate. Bama would roll OSU and anyone else besides Clemson.

The teams that played in 2014 aren't playing this year. OSU was a much better team than this version. It's plain to see if your not a fan. I was way more impressed with Michigan yesterday (and I was rooting for OSU). OSU caught all of the breaks yesterday and won the TO battle. I thought OSU was better even with a healthy Michigan QB, but now I'm not so sure. Speight kept them in the game, but he also cost them the game. OSU just can't click in the passing game and Bama would just exploit it. I would be very surprised if they could keep it close.

Right now? Today?

Any attempts to place EITHER UMich or OSU in the top five as far as how they stack up right now would be.........difficult

Right now you have two offenses who each have NOTHING to hang their hats on
NOTHING

UMich can certainly play some defense (and it helps a lot when they can play "Mel Blount" rules on the secondary)
OSU is tremendously athletic - and tremendously young

But either of those offenses we saw on Saturday would have trouble with a lower level P5 defense
The OSU offense has pissed the bed 5 times in the last 7 games.......Aside from the obligatory 60 point game against UMd, UMich hasn't had a "non-abysmal" offensive performance in over a month

You cannot beat Alabama with a drop back passer. Clemson had a shot last year because Watson runs. Only thing that has ever given Bama defense trouble is zone read offenses with dual threat qb. Oklahoma, Clemson, Auburn with Cam, Ole Miss last few years, Johnny Manziel at A&M.

They dominate stiffs in the pocket. Sparty last year a perfect example. I would be shocked if Michigan scored more than 10 against them. Louisville Ohio St Penn St has better chance because of qb situation. Michigan game would be a lot like LSU Bama game, low scoring.

People aren't paying attention to Washington because they're an "also ran" PAC 12 team. If they get by the Buffs they will make some noise in the playoffs. Experienced coach, above average QB, decent defense. They lost to USC because USC is playing lights out and they're the most underrated team in the country based on the lack of coverage they get. One or more two years like this and Petersen will be a candidate for the top HC positions in the country.
