I hadn't posted on this subject before; people are going to believe what they choose to believe and any post I made would have only been troll food. I waited until there was resolution before I made this my one and only statement about the subject.

Everything that was attributed to a single anonymous source and/or reported or regurgitated by some media was assumed to be fact by many. I won't go into specifics but a lot that has been assumed on these forums is not fact.

If you believe there were 4 wrestlers suspended for dealing drugs you are wrong.
If you think there was an OD you are wrong.
If you think 2 months and humiliation was the only price paid you are wrong.

There was wrong doing. Young men were accountable for their individual actions. They will take their medicine, hopefully learn from it and be better men for it.

There were offers made by some very good programs to at least 1 wrestler if he was interested in a fresh start. I can't/won't speak for others but I would assume others were also courted. The easier road would have been to bail and I'm sure that would have also satisfied the wishes of some. To allow another program to reap the benefits of the resources, sacrifices, commitment and efforts of J, the staff, the fans and the program as a whole after dropping a grenade and bailing to leave the Gophers to pick up the pieces would not have been fair many. A lot is owed to many and the only way to pay it back is to excel in the community, in the classroom, in life and on the mat representing those that commited to and believed in you.

The process dragged out so long because of the summer break (parties in different states) and several layers of investigation (police, university, athletic department) that, for lack of a better term, each had to wait their turn in line.
I know the published sanctions are not satisfactory for some wanting a pound of flesh, depending on your perspective, out of a sense of being wronged or out of spite. The wrestler closest to me was accountable for his actions and resolved to accept whatever punishment the UofM deemed appropriate.

I won't be answering any questions about any of this.
Good health to all going forward and like all of you I am anxious for the season to start.

I hope you didn't feel obligated to share any of that. I think we're all just itching for the season to start.
We'll have to cross path, up here, this season.

Currently dealing with nephew learning to make better decisions while still crippled with the brain of a male teenager. Feel some of your pain and wishing the best for your son/family.

Thanks PBS...I know you won't be responding, but I did want to recognize you for a very well-thought out, and respectful post. Can't imagine what you and your family have gone through.

You've said enough for me. The next to last paragraph sums it up. On this forum, and every other, there will be some that want that "pound of flesh". We don't have a right to know...as with many things.

I personally wish you and LE II all the best.

PBS, well said and thought out. Introspective and forthright. There is no way to discuss your 'ifs" in an appropriate manner that serves the greater good.

No offense taken. To answer the question of "when do they become adults?", it has a lot to do with brain science. If you send a 20 year old thru an MRI and look at the picture produced, it will show certain parts of the brain as being undeveloped. The part that's associated with risk analysis is physically (and functionally) deficient up until their mid 20's. So, that why they make "dumb" decisions...and great front line soldiers. It's because they can't measure risk like an older person with a fully developed prefrontal cortex. They are mentally retarded in this area - literally.

I LOVE that you brought Brain Science into this discussion!

Ok time for something a little lighter. At the U of M you've got you Park & Rec majors, Hotel & Restaurant Management, and now the new one...Pharmaceutical Entrepenuership.

Picked up commitments from Bergeland (2nd to Sasso at S32) and Kerkvliet (S32 placer SO).

Kerkvliet is gonna be so tough.

I hope all involved learn whatever lessons can be learned and move forward.
The biggest impact is on their potential seeding. Taking a guy like Lizak, even if he gets 10-12 matches in, anything less than a top 3 place at the B1Gs could mean a tough seeding come NCAAs. If he runs into a Gilman in the 2nd round, would make it tough to come through the backside. Not impossible, but could definitely impact things.

Thanks for the great post PBS time for everyone to move forward. I can understand the pain and all that your family has had to go through. Please keep posting here and at HR you make many great post and have a tough skin u tell it like it is.
Best to your son and see you maybe at some meets or NCAA..

Glad to see that this board has come to their senses and voted the thread back to life.
Tidbit: Since 2000 the Gophers have had the most national champs at one weight class with five at heavyweight.

After doing their time, lineup will likely look as follows:

125 - Lizak
133 - McKee
141 - Thorn
149 - Stroker
157 - Short
165 - Kingsley/Early
174 - Wanzek
184 - Steveson/Pfarr
197 - Pfarr
285 - Kroells

If we stay healthy, I don't see us losing this dual...

There are not a ton of Minnesota points in that lineup, if we r talking a dual against Penn State.

I'll take McKee, Thorn, Pfarr, and Kroells with 125 and 165 tossups.

On todays paper I can see that. I wouldn't bet it and I wouldn't pick it but this will be tougher dual than some think.

Jammenz's favorite thread was buried on Page 9.

Isn't it true that Cael has not beaten the Goofers in a dual ?

We end that problem this evening.

I believe Sanderson has a head coaching victory over the Gophers from when at ISU.
