2 posts in a row that are beneath you jammenz. Or maybe they aren't.
So you don't think that Cael's 4-10-1 record vs the Big Three (Minny, Iowa, Okie St) had anything to do with his ducking the Natl Duals? Especially when he was finding success in the tournament format.

Lulz@"finding success in the tournament format." I guess that's one way to put it.

The National Duals will never find traction. There have been attempts at this dual format since the late 80's and it ALWAYS fails because:
-No one shows up to watch it
-You can't have two national champions venues...or teams for that matter
The sooner we accept this and realize it's NOT popularizing wrestling, the sooner we can allocate our thoughts, time, and energy toward the viable.

Obviously not, but you knew that and posted it anyway. That is 3 posts in a row that prove you are nothing but a troll (something I was pretty sure of anyway) and not worth my time or anyone else's. I put up with you this long because you seemed to actually be a wrestling fan, but now I know you are not, just a Cael hater and not worth my time.

Just curious, do you think that they are lacking in some area(s)? If so, where? Not disagreeing per se, rather wondering how others perceive their commentary.
The "hips to the party" stuff is comical and fun to listen to every week, but the frequent comparisons to Iowa, regardless of who's actually wrestling, gets under my skin a bit.

To be fair, though, I did a much easier state tournament commentary and got humbled by the difference between how difficult it was vs how difficult it actually is.

JammenX is a wrestling fan. A big wrestling fan at that I believe. He has in my opinion great wrestling recall. That being said, he isnt flos #1 P4P wrestling troll for nothing. I would also venture to say that he holds that distinction by a wide margin.

Hips to the party!...yes, that is getting a bit trite. Jim is a really good guy, and I think he does his best. It can be a bit Iowa-centric tho with him, I agree. He's the kind of guy you could suggest that to without him taking it personally. He's open to feedback. Have you noticed most great wrestlers and coaches are continually learning/open to suggestion - he fits that model for sure.

IMHO, a real wrestling fan would not have such a low opinion of wrestlers. He certainly would not believe that Cael is a coward and is ducking duals with teams he thinks he won't beat. IMHO, that goes WAY beyond being just a troll. That is someone that has a low opinion of wrestlers in general unless they wrestle for his team. IMHO, that is NOT a true wrestling fan. I personally respect the dedication and hard work that all wrestlers put in, even if they wrestle for Minny, Iowa, tOSU, OK State, etc.

Ya'll need to learn to look at jammen like a cartoon character. It's way less tolling on your blood pressure. Trust me.

"I say, I say, Cael is bad for wrestling and can't coach a dual team, I reckon"

You may be the same person on line as you are in real life. That isnt necessarily true for everyone.

You can be a fan wrestling AND a message board @sshole and make your way through life just fine. These personality traits are not mutually exclusive in my opinion.

the psychology of this, i dont have the time for. If JammenX didnt bother people, I doubt he would contribute in the way he does.

I really need to puke and then go to confession. Defending JammenX's right to be a troll just feels icky.

I generally take the cartoon approach crop mentioned when it comes to Jammen however he trolls so much here and other places that I can't help but think he has single handily created enough negative karma to bring the Minnesota program down to where it is today.

More like the pro rassler who gets on the mic and tells the fans they're all fat and stupid.

Get mad at him, you're playing into him.

But he gives us more than enough material to troll him back -- Link or it didn't happen.

If only Penn State had found some success at the Duals, things may have turned out differently. Oh wait, 15 podiums in 17 appearances through 2009, including 2 titles, 3 thirds, and 4 fourths. I wonder what changed.

To jammen:

We just had the Olympics...lot of wrestling to talk about yet for the life of me, I don't think I saw one non-troll post about the actual action from Jammenz. So is he actually a fan of the sport or has his only enjoyment now become trolling opposition fans and to hell with what actually happens out on the mat.

Is trolling the only "winning" he can experience any more?:D

Originally national duals was simply an effort to profit from a mid season tournament modeled off the Virginia Duals.
Failing to develop said tournament into steady cash cow and witnessing a steady interest decline, what changed was a comically self-sevving effort to push forward and falsely portray tournament as one of wrestling's finest, vitally significant events.

National Duals at UNI was so clutch. That is the only format I find myself truly cheering for. All divisions under 1 roof. I could watch my former teammates on lower division mats while watching the big D1 stars. Man, I miss that tournament.

The below came up on my Facebook feed, and for some reason it reminded me of Jammen's posts.

Not sure if the sword he is swallowing is any bigger than the one he is falling on.

Substance abuse is one thing, which the reports and releases indicate it isnt. Its a whole other thing to be selling narcotics as an enterprise, which the reports and releases say it was.

I dont know that this interview did anything to change that narrative.

My little thread is barely hanging on, tied 41-41. Will you be the one to vote me out of existence?

Could always have the mods lock this thread ... that would preserve it for anyone who truly cares, right?

Truthfully, I don't find anything Jammenz writes worse than stuff that used to be said (by Iowa fans particularly) on The Wrestling Talk back in the day. Or stuff on HR daily today. Jammenz seems to do it in a humorous way - like he knows what he is saying is ridiculous..

Sadly I am 3 points down in the polls. For those who value fact-based commentary over invective, here is a summation of the thread:

The B1G Frosh of the Year was started in 1988. Minny (Nix, Lawrence, Reiter, D Schlatter,J Ness), Iowa (Tom Brands, McIlravy, McGinness, Mocco, McDonough), PSU (Kolat, Hunter, Billman, Storniolo, Taylor) are all tied for lead with 5 each.
-------------
The B1G Coach of the Year has been won 6 times by Penn State. Fritz, Sunderland, Cael 4x. JRob has won it 8 times, single-handedly tied for most wins with Iowa's coaches.
B1G titles won: Cael 4, JRob 6.
--------------
The Big Wrestler of the Year was established in 1986. Penn State has won it 6 times: Kolat, Hunter, Taylor 3x, Ruth. Minny has won it 8 times: Giese, Zuniga, Konrad 2x, Morgan, Hartung, J Ness, Lewis.
---------------
PSU has a winning record against almost all teams. They even started out with a 5-0 record against Minny since their first meeting in 1986. As you all know the tide quickly turned and Penn State hasn't beaten the Gophers since Feb 6, 1998. Other teams with losing records to:
Illinois......... 6-9 began 1956
Iowa........... 8-26-2 began 1982
Iowa State. 10-13-1 began 1921
Okie State.. 6-12-1 began 1982
------------------
Here are teams top 10 finishes for the last 20 years. If you finished out of the top ten that year then you were assigned a value of 11. Penn State ends up a surprising tied for 4th/5th with nobody else close. I mean, who knew?

1)........... Iowa 20/20, mean 2.9, median 2.5, mode 1.
2)...... Okie St 19/20, mean 4, median 3.5, mode 3
3)......... Minny 18/20, mean 4.5, median 3, mode 2
4/5)........ PSU 13/20, mean 6.2, median 7.5, mode 11
4/5)....... IA St) 13/20, mean 6.6, median 6, mode 11

NWCA National Duals championships: Minnesota 9, PSU.........1

NCAA team Titles: Minnesota 3, PSU..........7
-------------------------
You got it backwards. It was J's camp that the U of Iowa wanted to muscle in on. The Iowa admin didn't do Gable any favors with that moronic move. Gable won 7 titles in 8 years with JRob, but only 8 titles in 13 years after.

You can throw all your B10 stats in the garbage - Penn State wasn't part of that until 1992. JRob was and is a great coach, no question. Cael is better though. As for National Duals titles, you can keep those. They're not recognized by the governing body (NCAA), and based on attendance levels, the fans don't care about them either.
