Barkley is projected as a Top 5 overall pick. Gaskin will be a late round pick if he comes out.

Let me guess. You actually believe gaskin is better than Barkley. I honestly had never heard of gaskin before reading that tweet.
Not surprised. I've been to the east coast including PA and for most of those people the USA stops at the west side of Chicago.

We already slaughtered the Huskies.

(umm...or maybe the Huskers...I forget. But we beat Rutgers by a bigger score.)

Nah, I think it stops somewhere around Lincoln, NE. ;)

Two areas to consider when trying to compare RBs ...

Opponent's Rush Defense:
PSU - faced 3 of the top 14 rush defenses (MSU, Northwestern, OSU)
UW - toughest rush defense faced was Fresno State (#23)

2017 Strength of Schedule:
PSU: 4
UW: 43

Pretty safe to say SB vs MG numbers would be a lot different if schedules were swapped.

Well, I grew up in PA and don’t know anyone who thinks the USA ends at Chicago. ;).

There’s just not much tv coverage of Washington football on the east coast so it doesn’t shock me that many are not familiar with some Husky players. I’m sure the same is true regarding Penn St on the West coast.

Should be a good game. How is the Husky pass D this year?

Hopefully the 2 ADs can work out some future out of conference games between the 2 programs.

I was disappointed the proposed B1G/PAC scheduling alliance a few years back never materialized. Since both now play a nine game conference schedule there's zero chance it'll happen in the future. That's a shame since it would offer great exposure for both.

I feel like UW had an easy schedule, especially when considering defending the run. They only played one really good rushing team and gave up 166 to Stanford's Love. Their only other ranked opponent was Wash St, who is a passing team. They do have a really good DT.

PSU defended the run pretty well. I am more concerned about their passing attack.

Its going to be a good game. We don't stack up well. If we can get our ground game going, that means its on you OL, we will be just fine.

You forgot to add that Barkley has over 600 yards receiving too. He’s an all purpose back not a running back in this offense.
Gaskin isn’t on same universe level wise with Barkley.
As well as return yards, that took a lot of gas out of his tank.

Up until their last game against Washington st., Washington best win was against 9-4 Fresno st. They haven’t won against a team with a winning record besides those two.
This will be challenging game for PSU but I see a win.

UW safety Ezekiel Turner on Fiesta Bowl, Penn State’s Saquon Barkley and more
This may sound very condescending but you haven't seen a back like Barkley. What most casual fans don't realize is that Saquon would have been a 2,000 yard back in a pro style offense. For most of the year, hes been used as a decoy to open up the rest of the offense based on the spread style. He's pretty much the consensus GOAT here and we've had some good ones. Curt Warner (should sound familiar), Franco Harris, Larry Johnson, Kijana Carter, Curtis Enis, Lydell Mitchell, Lenny Moore, Sam Smith etc. This kid is the most complete back we've ever had. He also seems to play best in big games.

Look out because he's coming your way. With all due respect to Miles--he will be a solid NFL player, and we know, we had one here by the name of Evan Royster....what you're about to see in Barkley is a completely different animal. We'll have to see if they take the leash off....he is a LEGIT top 5 draft pick who sometimes takes a back seat to TEAM goals......but when he's in the zone (in a big game setting) and given the proper amount of touches, you won't stop him, nobody can. But who knows, Franklin seems torn about playing him significant snaps, he knows he's gone so he may be a non-factor anyway.

How is old Bloomsburg is Hess's still open?

Gaskin is very very good. Going to be great. People aren't giving him the credit here that he deserves

That said, Barkley is special. I'd say that if he played at Bama or Michigan or Texas or Washington or Pitt or Northwestern or anywhere else. He's on a different level. Lock to be a top 5 pick. I'd love to have seen what he could do in Washington's offensive scheme

College football is filled with very good running backs, but there's only one Barkley.

I took Washington +2.5 couple weeks ago.

PSU O-line play was the sole reason. I fear Washington's stellar front 7 will give Barkley and McSorely zero room.

What about NFL scouts?

1. Obviously they like Barkley better
2. That doesn't alter the fact it is weird people don't seem to know who Gaskin is (he'll be a day 3 pick next year probably)
3. Lots of fan bases could use that against us when talking bout QBs and people here would claim it is irrelevant.
