Fiesta Bowl: 'Let's get it on!'

1. Obviously they like Barkley better
2. That doesn't alter the fact it is weird people don't seem to know who Gaskin is (he'll be a day 3 pick next year probably)
3. Lots of fan bases could use that against us when talking bout QBs and people here would claim it is irrelevant.

Name every player who will be a day 3 pick in this years draft.

How many players do you know on Washington? How many times have you watched them this year? You, like many here, are a Penn State fan that doesn't actually follow college football on a national level which is exactly the point the OP was making. True college football fans (not just Penn State fans) can tell you about most teams and when guys get drafted in rounds 4-7 they will know the large majority of them. I know you and many here know very little (if anything) about Washington and the more you guys post the more obvious that becomes.

I guess we can take that response as " I don't know who will be taken on Day 3."

No one know who will be taken in the draft. It's all educated guesses at this point. I can assure you that I'll know every name called aside from maybe 1-2 FCS/DII/DIII kids that don't get much mention in the weeks/months leading up to the draft.

So project rounds 4-7 so we can revisit and determine if you fit your own definition of true fan or stfu.

You're not even making sense. I know the players and where they are currently deemed to be drafted. Teams will have their own evaluations. You should know the names of the kids called on draft day(s). The fact you don't know who Myles Gaskin is proves the OP right--you don't know anything about college football past Chicago. If Washington beats us (which is possibly but unlikely IMO) this board is going to be ridiculous

You ARE 21GUNS, aren't you? Jesus pal, your boasting "knowledge" consists of a worshipful reverance for Mel Kiper. Who cares? These gurus said Johnny Football was a good player.

As well as return yards, that took a lot of gas out of his tank.

Why do people do this? You don't know what did or did not happen with Barkley. It's not as though Barkley said this.

Don't you think Franklin would know if returning kicks was having a negative impact on Barkley? And if Franklin knew that, don't you think he would have made the necessary adjustment?

If you believe something to be the case, then say explicitly that you believe it. Don't assert what you don't know. There's too much of that crap with the football program here.

But but but but Washington!!!!!!!!! Journey Brown!!!!!!!!!!! BURN THE SHIRT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Myles Gaskin is a solid college back with tons of experience, came on as frosh the same season as Saquon. Gaskin has stayed about the same as his freshman year, good small elusive back who is solid, no doubt. Saquon has molded into an absolute elite superstar, there is no comparison.

I don't care if Gaskin goes out and gets 150 yards and Quon gets 25, Quon is far the superior player, any man with a set of eyes can see that and it has nothing to do with an East Coast bias.

Well, cjf stopped it down the stretch. One has to wonder why. I observed 26 didn't have the energy late in the season. Sometimes coaches manage to win battles and lose sight of the war (see the most recent Star was movie)

But overall I am not sure if your point. Are you saying that we must never speculate? So, in that case, nobody should have an opinion since we don't know if another returner would have been better or worse. And why aren't you complaining when people suggest hack wouldn't have worked in this system? Why follow recruiting since we have no idea how those kids will play in college? Perhaps you are saying CJF is perfect and never makes a coaching mistake? Is it your point that all PSU fans should just follow blindly? Is it your position that out coaching staff has never made a mistake?

If you are going to speculate, say explicitly that you are speculating. You didn't do that. Re-read your post.

They are Penn State. And their secondary is pretty good

“There not going to give you a chance to sit back there and hold the ball,” Huskies coach Chris Petersen said. “It’s how they get after the quarterback. They get over three sacks a game, that’s a lot.

“They play tight coverage and they mix their coverages. So they’re getting after the quarterback, changing the picture and cover tight. It’s why they’re one of the better defenses in the country.”

PSU is seventh in scoring defense an allows 15.5 points per game. The Nittany Lions are also 20th in total defense and will be the third Top 20 defense the No. 11 Huskies (10-2) will face this season. They’re 44th against the pass and are allowing around 210 yards per game. But the secondary also excels in other areas.

They’re among the best in America at either breaking up passes or defending them. Penn State is ninth in breaking up passes and 10th in defending individual passes with 89.

Senior cornerback Christian Campbell leads the Nittany Lions with 13 defended passes and 12 breakups. He’s partnered up with redshirt junior cornerback Amani Oruwariye, and senior cornerback Grant Haley.

Start with Penn State’s multifaceted offense. It’s led by quarterback Trace McSorley, who led the Big Ten in total offense, and Barkley, likely headed for the NFL after winning the Paul Hornung Award as the most versatile player in college football. Their challenge is a Washington defense that’s ranked first in FCS against the run and fifth overall.

“As far as their defense, they're pretty athletic defensively,” said Johnson, whose last-play touchdown catch to beat Iowa was perhaps Penn State’s most memorable moment of the season. “Their corners, their safeties are really athletic; they're really smart. They're guys that can make plays whenever the ball is up in the air. …

“And as far as the defensive line, the defensive line is pretty much the top in the country. They have a guy (tackle Vita Vea) who is pretty much going first or second round. So just trying to do what we can to win our one-on-one battles is going to be the biggest key.”

Have you been watching "The Man in the High Castle?"

Never heard of "The Man in the High Castle," but LOL at that map. So no one wanted the Mountain Pacific states?

Myles Gaskin is a very good running back. As a Pac 12 alum, I've seen him in action, and can attest to that. He's nowhere near as good as Saquon, but that does not mean he isn't good. Every other RB in college football is in the same boat.

Good series on Amazon, based off of some books. The "Neutral zone" is just a buffer to keep the Japanese and Nazis from butting heads.

I have a feeling Barkley has a big day....like a 200 yard day.

It appears that UW plays a base 3-4 defense. Have we played any teams this year that lined up in a 3-4?

I agree. Both are very good RBs. Barkley’s obviously the favorite here but there’s no need to knock 1 in order to praise the other.
