Flag planting garbage

The flag-planting fights happened all over Saturday. If you follow this thread, you'll see at least five such events. the tOSU?UM fight is escalated due to its importance and ratings. Few saw the huge NCState/NC fight. Regardless, the NCAA has to reign it in. Plus, if you saw the videos of the tOSU players harassing the UM players in warmup you'd perhaps think differently about who started it. I really don't know. Worse, cops having to pepper spray players after not heeding warnings to disperse.

A really bad look for both programs. Herbstreit called for a handful of suspensions for the bowl/playoff.

Can OSU put in one of their classes that you can’t plant a flag in artificial turf so the players won’t get as mad?

The overwhelming majority of OSU players did not come from the portal. A few are, most are not.

Sort of ironic that you misspell the word " quote " when criticizing you Cardale Jones's commitment to education. Since he left Ohio State Cardale Jones has been an upstanding, responsible citizen. I expect that half of the players in college football, including those at Penn State, if they were asked whether they came there to get educated or to play pro football, would say that they went to college to play pro football. He just said something out loud that you're supposed to keep quiet.

Your reply is fair in isolation. On the other hand, this Jones quote is recited ad nauseam on this website to supposedly show that Ohio State's academic requirements for its players are below those of most universities.

It's just a joke. Everybody here knows OSU is a good academic school. I'm guessing Cardale's tweet was probably in response to being forced to go to class so it kind of shows the opposite of what you're suggesting.

It was the thoughts of an immature young man made with zero jest. Nothing in his voice said he wasn't serious no matter how much your inner fan wants to make it so.

Correct, they essentially disliked scUM celebrating at midfield where "block O" is, with a scUM flag. They know a flag can't be planted as scUM did the same celebration at midfield 2 years ago (including with a flag) - no flag was actually "planted" as it's impossible on duhO$U's surface.

The reality is that it was all about duhO$U simply not liking the way scUM celebrated (specifically at midfield overtop the "block O"). However, there is no rule prohibiting, or restricting how, the visiting team from celebrating on the field. It's like saying a World Series Champion is being disrespectful if they celebrate on opponents field after clinching Series on the road.

I agree. But I have to say it's probably a miracle I haven't been beaten to a pulp at the Shoe. The Buckeye chant, after beating us is F@#%# Penn State. What I've yelled back is you guys can't win with class!!!!

Win with class??!??!??! I have been to the Shoe for most of PSU's losses. I can't repeat here the filthy names and comments to me and my family. Ohio state are the last people I need to hear from about winning with class!

Every fan base has its aholes. These people are not playing and probably do not even have a son who is. I do apologize for the fan base as I like to think I am in the sane section of the OSU crowd.

There are many, unfortunately, ahole, OSU fans. Big difference between the players and the fans. It is clear that the Michigan players have zero class.

No doubt, all these OSU players, who weren't involved in the after-game festivities until they decided to interject themselves by fighting with the UM players ... they were instigating fights in a classy way ...

It also demonstrates what I've said all along - scUM is celebrating in mass at the 50 yard line while waving a scUM flag about..... There is no "planting" taking place as it impossible on duhO$U's artificial surface. All these duhO$U types keep adding the "flag planting" bull$hit for dramatic effect. The video clearly shows what was taking place and that was scUM celebrating in mass at midfield where duhO$U's field has a "block O" and this is what duhO$U took exception to and claims is legitimate justification to commit mass assault which ended up in collateral casualties including sending a police officer to the hospital.

Again, you can't really plant a flag at midfield of duhO$U's field (nor did scUM players actually "plant" a flag there this year or two years ago). What the scUM players IN FACT did was celebrate at midfield (which is on top of the midfield logo "Block O") while holding a flag. So this begs the question, if a team merely celebrates at midfield over the "Block O", can the homer duhO$U authorities mischaracterize such a celebration as an attempted "flag planting"??? Because they most certainly have grossly exaggerated, and mischaracterized, what took place at midfield this year after their loss to scUM.
