Gameplan for Vincenzo?

This will be a fun weight class to watch at NCAA's. Besides Joseph and Marinelli, there's; Josh Shields, Chance Marsteller, Logan Massa, Evan Wick, Isaiah White, Mehki Lewis, and others. At the very least, quarters on has a ton of intrigue.

What are your thoughts on the brick toss by Cael? The ref stopped the match right as Bull was looking to get a takedown. No continuation of action? I need to study the new rule closer
It is my understanding that the brick was tossed just before the shot so I believe it was the right call to stop the action. However, it obviously sucked for the Bull because he was in on a nice shot. If the tables were turned, PSU fans would be extremely unhappy. Ultimately, it did not have an effect on the outcome of the match.

I am not sure what the exact Rule is but, to the extent that the Rule was properly applied in this situation, I would like to see the Rule changed to allow the action to continue until the completion of the move that was initiated before the challenge was recognized by the Ref.

The rule already allows for continuation. Read the rule on page 2 of this thread posted by Roar. However, once the ref blows the whistle the action is dead. Bull was only in on the TD because Joseph stopped at the whistle.

Remember when Richie Lewis claims he was "deep on a single" when they stopped action for that BS headgear call at last years dual. When he was only in because Cenzo stood up and he reshot lol.

This brick discussion is great. I have another observation about the process. Several times, the brick tossing was more of an aggressive, wind-up-and-throw-it AT the referee move. It's foam, so no biggie, right? Rulebook says away from the action. Thoughts?

I can't believe how well it worked out for Cenzo by losing ... he has a better of idea of what will and won't (especially won't) work against the Bull, got humbled a little bit and realized he can't wrestle passive and complacent and now .... this much more favorable draw. I think Iowa fans do have a legitimate grip about how ridiculous Marinelli's draw is, he opens with Joe Smith (even though he might be fatigued from a pigtail and being sucked down), then likely gets the guy who took him to SV this year in Viruet, gets Lewis in the QFs then Wick again (or Marstellar) in the semis.

Hoping Cenzo gets Ashworth instead of White in the QFs. White always manages to keep it within striking distance. Definitely expecting for him to wrestle Massa in the Semis instead of Shields. Both are preferable to wrestling Wick for the first time though.
