Give me your prediction: PSU-Iowa

I know the IU game ended less than 12 hours ago but it’s time to move on to one of the biggest games of the year.

Listened to some of the PSU media talking about Iowa and PSU and they seem to think low scorIng game with PSU having a bit of an edge.

Iowa-13

i say the defense either score or sets up a short scoring drive vs The Hawks

in all seriousness. Our D will keep us in games, but my fear is the offense wont be able to do much and continue 3 and outs will hurt our D. Western Ky was able to run up and down and the field on Indiana but we couldn't??

My heart says PSU by 3-7
My brain says Iowa by 10 if I was a betting man.

Won't give score yet but agree with the low scoring part. Stout may need to hit a couple 45+ yard FG
 
I think score will be higher than in the teens for each team just by nature of I think you see turnovers that give one team or the other a short field coming into play. Iowa might be able to have a good drive or two but if we stuff the run theyre really gonna have their hands full trying to throw on 3rd and 7+. If Cliff Dogg has even an A- game I think PSU wins by double digits but by nature of it being @Iowa there is bound to be some kind of SHTF that we gotta scratch'n'claw (JF trademark) thru.

Our offense will be able to make “some” plays and will have the slight edge to theirs.
 
I feel like Yurcich kept the play-calling vanilla once it was evident that Indiana wasn’t going to be able to do much offensively. Yurcich abused Auburn on some really sneaky plays. I think Yurcich designs just enough to scheme us into 17-21 points and we win a close one.

if I’m Iowa I pick up on our pedestrian running backs, terrible TE blocking, and weak inside run game in general. We made Indiana 47 look like Dick Butkus. Iowa keeps its LB near the line of scrimmage and keeps Dotson in front of them. It will be very tough sledding.

Well he was third team All American last year, so I’m not sure we made him look like Dick Butkus….he might just be really good…I know, novel concept to think the teams we play actually have talented players too.

Obviously our running game has been poor (at best, inconsistent), but it’s ridiculous that we couldn’t get in the end zone last night on 3rd and then 4th and goal from the 1. On 4th down, Strange completely whiffed on the key block we needed. Ridiculous.

Yurcich made McFadden look like a Heisman winner.
 
If the TE's are whiffing on blocks, we should put an extra OL in to block in obvious short yardage run plays. However, I gotta think we could have some success running play action once in awhile in these situations.

I'm worried that our anemic offense will cause us to lose three of our last seven games, starting with this one. 27-13 Hawks.

And did I see Dotson limp off late in the game holding his hammy? If he's gimpy 31-9 Hawks.

Their offense is better than ours based on what? Not statistics, so must be the “eye test”. They had 54 yards rushing versus Colorado State. They scored 51 yesterday, but got 100 turnovers. I’m not sure why you feel Iowa’s offense is better than anyone’s.

Your post here and the post by the guy you're replying to is what gives a fan base a bad name. Penn State has classy fans just like Iowa does. However, there are exceptions-- certainly on Iowa's side and certainly you are one of PSU's side. Stop painting a brush on people-- you likely don't even know anybody who lives in the state of Iowa. At least for the sake of the fabulous PSU fans, try stopping with the bashing crap.

I picked this as a loss since the beginning of the year along with OSU. That said PSU’s defense and offense are both performing better than I thought and while I can see them lose to those two I see them beating them also .
First Iowa , I’ll say higher scoring than we think 31-24 PSU. I think Petras is the weak link.
Then bring on Illinois .

AWS why would you dignify that post? Iowa's offense Is Not Better than ours--nor is their Defense.

The negative perception PSU has vs. Iowa is legacy based-they had our number for years. Not as of late but....also playing in Kinnick sucks.

Our Only weakness right now is our Running game in short yardage--and that flip flops between the OL and the RB or both at times.

We are just as Physical as Iowa--they arent as Physical as they have been in the past and we are More Athletic.

We ARE NOT going to TURNOVER THE BALL as much as their opponents have done prior. Not going to Happen.

Clifford will play better--they will work on Cover2 beaters all week.....Not too worried..our Defense is really good.

We will play Field position and it will be long drives for them---they have Goodson and we faced better in Auburns backs and their TE..their QB is ok...thats it!

PSU between 13-20
Iowa between 21-27.

What a jackass. Why are you here?
My opinion has nothing to do with the Iowa fan base, it has to do with my many, many experiences in Iowa. I have been in (and more enjoyably just passing through) Iowa dozens of times over the last 23 years. I know many people from Iowa. My experiences dealing with Iowans has been that there is a level of arrogance that is unbearable. Thanks for the lecture though, you’ve changed my opinion.

I agree, we often struggle ( two games close recently , one game and easy win) there but we’ve been winning lately . 6/7
