I just ran across Jeff Byer's call of Vincenzo Joseph pinning Martinez to win this year's national championship at 165 pounds. It is a great call and I don't think I will ever get tired of listening to it. Here is a transcription of the call:
10 seconds into the third period.
Joseph and Martinez battling ear-to-ear.
Martinez trying to get in, he's in under the arms
Joseph looks like he wants to counter
He throws Martinez on his back!
He's got Martinez flat!
He got the pin!
Vincenzo Joseph pins him!
Vincenzo Joseph wins the national championship in dramatic fashion!
Joseph throws Martinez to his back and he gets the pin!
Do you believe it?
4:25 and how do you do Vincenzo Joseph!

Reflecting on this call has made me appreciate the current state of Penn State wrestling.
I think that Penn Staters are extremely fortunate to have a dynasty in collegiate wresting at this time. The wrestling team had one of the finest, if not the finest, season in ncaa history. Cael Sanderson is a great couch and I believe that if he continues anything close to the success that he has already demonstrated that he will go down as one of the best coaches ever.
2016-1017 was a great season with both the dual meet as well as the tournament national championships. Winning first place in 5 out of 10 weight classes was incredible, but was even more incredible was winning 5 weight classes in a row and that all 5 national champions are underclassman!
