From where? I live on western part of the state I need to head to middle Maryland south of breezewood to normally get them fresh.Got a dozen today. $26 and they were from 6 1/4" to 7" with about half right at 6 1/2". Exactly one paper shell and the rest were packed. Good eating today!
Last weekend was my bday. Got 2 dozen from a roadside stand in Delaware. Finishing the claws right now, listening to a Dead show and toasting the end of (non-calendar) Summer! 🍻In the late 70's, I was living in Annapolis. Crabs were $35/bushel. Spent an afternoon about 100 yards from the Severn River Bridge with some co-workers catching crabs on a trot line. We got quite a few crabs and drank quite a few beers. Good times.
Did the same thing with lobsters years ago in Ogunquit, Maine. Me, my dad and the guy who was screwing my mother-in-law at the time had babysitting duty whilst the lady folk went shopping, dinner and drinks.A month ago I got a deal - a dozen for $15 outside of Ocean City NJ. $5 fee if you want them cleaned, which is worth it. Got 2 dozen splitting with my father and 11 yo son. We also bought a large pizza. My dad and I had a few beers. We finished it all while all the ladies went shopping. Perfection.
Crabs are $22/dozen this week. I'm going to grab a couple dozen for the weekend celebration! Last week I got a dozen for $25 and those guys were big, full, and oh so sweet.
