Headliner for 11/24 announced!

Prior to this year Dean lost to Downey and Heflin. I have seen Taylor run through those guys, so I’m not sure why we wouldn’t expect him to do the same to Dean.
Dean's losses to Downey and Heflin were both in 2017. Is that compelling evidence of 2020 Dean, with 3 more years of practicing with Dake?

Also, is Dean's style not a factor?

I wouldn’t think it would be a factor for Taylor.

I guess 3 years of not wrestling can make someone better. Seems pretty rare.

Dean also handed Ed Ruth one of his 3 losses at the collegiate level.

Sure that was 6 years ago, but I'm not sure that is any less significant that what he did 3 years ago.

Speculating on motives seems an exercise in futility. Why not just give Dean kudos for giving David a good match. We'll know more after their next meeting, if it happens.

People dont remember/follow freestyle results?

I know Gabe Dean won Senior Nationals but that doesn’t necessarily qualify him for the OT. So he would have to still go thru the Last Chance and then have to go thru a loaded 86kg bracket that includes Bo, Zahid, Dieringer. Don’t think he can’t run the table but pending on his draw it could be tough all while DT is sitting in the finals for any of them

Lost track of who won what, when, where, so excuse the ignorance, but I didnt realize DT was sitting in OTT finals.

Edit, also thought placing (not to mention WINNING) at Sr Nats was indeed a ticket to OTT’s.

Dean won’t be top 4.

Assistant Coach at Cornell but stopped wrestling. LOL.
Only wrestler I remember taking 3 years off, then coming back and being much good is Cael. And even Cael wasn’t as good as he was before the layoff. And that is freaking Cael.

Let me know if I’m missing some other examples.

Dan Dennis comes to mind. I don't know if he was three years removed from competition, but probably close.

Does anyone know if the matches will go up on NLWC’s Rokfin channel? I couldn’t watch live bad I don’t see them now. Also, I don’t see the matches from the previous card. I could be looking in the wrong spot. Maybe someone can help me out.

Frank Molinaro competed once in his 3 years as Rutgers assistant coach, at an event about 45 min from campus.

One might improve more practicing daily with Dake than with Dippery, Theobold, and Perrotti. Also they were on the same side of 30, unlike Cael.

The funny thing about using Cael as an example: Cael won the US WTTs and took 5th at Worlds that year, despite being on the wrong side of 30. Nobody held Dean to that standard.

So question on rokfin... if I have paid membership thru NLWC, can I watch this event ^^ or do you have to pay for the Wisconsin separately?
