....neither got close to AA'ing just as I predicted. Ditto Baby Brands - predicted mid-season that he would come nowhere near AA'ing (and that he wouldn't even reach Blood Round) and that he was wildly over-rated. Forget about how insanely high he was ranked after he beat Venz, but he went into NCAAs as the 12th Seed despite having all kinds of losses on his resume!

Part of the problem with the NCAA seedings at both these weights (125 & 184) was not only that some individuals from B1G (actually, individuals for certain teams) were wildly overated, but the B1G as a whole was wildly overated as a Conference at several weights relative to the rest of the nation. Again, not just 125 and 184, but 149 is another that comes to mind (complete joke that Murin was a 12-seed with a 6-5 record -- Murin shouldn't have even been at NCAAs after going 0-2 and placing tied for last at B1G Championship!, let alone being as high as a 12-seed). Brands was a 12-seed at 184 despite having an 8-6 record going into NCAAs! Joke!

Not doubt that the big 10 is the best conference but there’s also no doubt that they’re overrated because of this.

Brody is a fantastic wrestler. Anyone who was on McKee's side of wrestlebacks were getting hit with a freight train. Making the QF to no AA has got to be one of the biggest heartbreaks ever. Saw it happen to Mouse twice .... Murin is in that boat now as well. Was kind of worried it would happen to Michael after how he looked against Woodley.

I’m not sure what happened to McKee, but he went absolutely apes**t at this tournament. If he can consistently wrestle that way over his next 2-3 years he’ll be a big problem.

You were doing most of the chattering.

@smalls103 should hire you with all your genius prediction ability nobody saw coming. How does one even put a value on such talent?

Love that in his bragging post, he made basic factual errors. Teske did indeed make the blood round and was a late takedown + SV takedown away from the semis. About as close to AAing as you can possibly get.

Same for Murin, who apparently shouldn't have been in the tournament, but made the quarters with a win over #5 and lost 2 OT matches to finish R12.

Special brain at work here.

Huh? I think this is more evidence of how deep the B10 is, not that it's overrated

125 as a whole was just incredibly deep (not weak). Teske had just beat Lamont at Big 12's. Barnett finished 10th at B10's and AA'd. Schroder pinned and majored one of the 2021 finalists last year, but only finished R12 this year. Foley was a former AA that finished R12.

Murin was a 12-seed and made R12, so not sure what the problem is there. Yahya Thomas finished 8th at the B10's, and 3rd at NCAA's. But yes, Van Brill didn't look so elite going 0-2 at NCAA's after finishing 3rd at B10's.

184 maybe wasn't the B10's best weight, but they still had the champ and 4th, with Venz being the only other guy seeded to AA and he finished R12 (Webster finished R12 as well).

Bartlett lost to the #3 finisher yaya Thomas in sv at the big 10's and his invite must have been lost in the mail,to many autos from meh conferences weakened the field.

Congrats on the predictions. Your major award is in the mail.
Let us not forget his repeated statements on Iowa's lack of bonus points. Pointing out that Iowa had more bonus points this season.....diverted to "They turtle up at NCAAs" When facts showing Iowa had more bonus than PSU in 2019.....diverted to "This year" Exactly as he predicted again......Iowa had 27 bonus to PSU's 17. Oh.....I meant exactly the opposite of his prediction. If genius is defined as bragging when you are right and ignoring when wrong......then genius you are. As my farmer friends would say.........."Congratulations......you won two pounds of Cowsh@t in a one pound bag" Not certain what that means but it seems quite applicable. . :)

I'm OK with forgetting those ... and not just those.

On Sunday, Mrspa and I were out at antique stores, looking for bases to serve as table legs. We came across two sets of shapely mannequin legs. She must have seen the lightbulb in my eyes, because she put the kibosh to it, before I could even say anything.
What was the asking price on the table lamp. Serious, tia

Kind of like the “brain” on HR that called 2 of our All Americans “really bad” at wrestling?:oops:

Heinselman lost to Howard and Foley. I hardly see how that is evidence that the B1G is overrated at that class.

Huh? Neither Howard or Foley sniffed the R12 either! How in the hell does going 0-2 @B1Gs and losing to two wrestlers that didn't even make R12 show that Heinselman was worthy of a 10-seed at NCAAs and wasn't wildly overrated? Some of you people are seriously bizzare with your statements that back your ludicrous claims.

Many...and I mean MANY over there would be embarrassed if we started pulling up old posts and threads with their predictions. It would get quite ugly. I can’t talk though, I did swing and miss by predicting they would have 2 champs and 8 AAs missing the champion part by predicting double the amount they actually ended up with. :)

Nashville Hawkeye in my opinion was the best at making predictions over there and to me the most realistic and levelheaded of them all. He’s a great guy to have visit here if you like getting a Hawkeye take...

Heinselman didn't go 0-2 at Bigs. Facts.....try them sometime. . :)

Did I hear you say big 10 is overrated??? Try telling that to all the guys that qualified from eiwa this year, and did nothing at nationals!

The EIWA was the leader in 0-2 performances at the NCAA tournament, with 23. The next closest competitor was the Big 12, with 10.

If Robby (Robert, now, apparently) gets/stays healthy, and SVN is what we think he is, we will likely have athletes in the blood round at every weight next year.

Hopefully we get a few into the finals instead.

Not sure Robert will blood round next year... 125 returns a lot including Vito, glory and the other ivies.

Yeah, Howard will not improve even though he will get a full year of actual practice and working out in the room rather than going 2-2 after a limited practice/workout schedule post shoulder surgery, where his 2 losses were to the 3rd and 5th place finishers.
