Herbstreit & Fowler are doing the game this week?

I honestly think Fowler sucks too, he always sounds like he is mailing it in. Like he raises his voice to act excited, but it seems like he isn't. I suppose Herbstreit will be effusive of Penn State, he sort of has to be now right? Its really the only way his Bucknuts get back into this playoff race. If PSU is a top 2 or 3 team and OSU beats us?
Fowler and Herb will of course mention the "shame" and the "scandal" associated with Penn State during the telecast. Guarantee it.
He can scream to high heaven, but what is certain, is that Herbstreit will not be in Ohio Stadium on September 28th.
The game will be telecast by Fox.
i really dont know why but i am getting extremely nervous for this game. somebody talk me off the ledge.

I compare Fowler's "excitement" to someone like Gus Johnson (the guy on Fox that did the Big10 championship game) - Johnson's excitement is over the top and he can't really be that excited - but he sounds very believable.
I won't be annoyed by Herbie and Fowler. I intend to turn the TV sound off and listen to Steve Jones and Jack Ham on the radio.
My feelings are trending the opposite way. I think we win and cover the 13 point spread. I've rewatched everyone of our games and I just don't see the problem with the Oline that others seem to see. Other than 3 times, when I've seen someone on our oline get beat one on one, the only times teams get pressure is when the bring 6 or 7 guys against our 5 olinemen. More times than not, we do not keep a TE in to block. The only thing that slowed us down against pitt was McSorley having a rough day. He missed wide open WRs and TEs repeatedly. He also would abandon a well established pocket and run right into pressure. I think that was an anomaly and don't expect that from him again. Some of the runs with Barkley getting stuffed in the backfield were again, 5 olinemen blocking 6 or 7 rushers. I'm not sure if it was a mistake by McSorley or just Moorhead wanting Barkley to run regardless of the blitz.
I don't think Iowa will be able to generate much pressure at all rushing just the 4 Dlinemen. If they do this, Barkley will have good runs mixed with great runs when he makes the LB miss. If they blitz, I expect McSorley to keep it more often and run or hit a variety of open receivers. I don't necessarily think Moorhead was playing a vanilla offense but, they were working on more things than just trying to run up the score.
The key to me is McSorley making the right reads and hitting the open receivers. He's done nothing over the last year plus to make me think he won't do that.

Fowler amd Herbie calling this game clearly indicates it's the networks " A" game... This duo is the best they have....
You're probably nervous because PSU hasn't proved anything by beating 3 very weak opponents. Look at what Ok. State did to Pitt last week. We also haven't played away from home. Here's what we know:
- Iowa struggled to beat Iowa State. They're not world beaters but they're solid team and could be tough at home.
- PSU has an explosive offense because we saw it last year and 9 starters returned.
- The running game / OL is still a question. Will Mahon make a difference?
- PSU still has t prove itself at DE and LB. I doubt that T. Brown will play. Will C. Brown make a difference?
Don't worry. Saquon and Trace have got this. Pretty much a "hold my beer" thing. The Lions will win comfortably in Iowa City.
Why does the Iowa State get treated like a good win for Iowa. Iowa State won 3 games last year and took Iowa to OT this year. We beat our instate rival by 19 and people act like the sky is falling.

Iowa has a new #94 AJ Espinosa, who is a true freshman DE. He should develop into a good one in time. 5* compared to 4* Clayborn.
That's what made it great. They weren't happy about it. Herbie didn't speak for over a minute. After Fowler said "Grant Haley will score" there was a full 30+ seconds of dead silence from either Fowler or Herbie. I think Fowler was probably consoling Herbie.
4 minutes seems fair. However, I would take the over fully expecting Fowler to bring it up almost immediately. I don't have near the hard feelings against Herbie as everyone else here does. Perhaps its the nostalgia of the hours I spent playing NCAA. My personal preference is Jones/Gilmore. I don't know why, I just like their style.
Yes, I mean Epenesa. Darn spell check. No, he is not a starter at this point. Role is similar to young Matt Roth, focusing on passing downs. Parker Hesse, Iowa's best performer on DL, moves inside.
Iowa is using 8 different players this year up front. Used 6 last year.
GIlmore is my favorite, by a country mile. Smart, prepared, reasonable, professional.
Herbie was probably down the hall watching horse racing. He came back and was confused about why his team wasn't winning. Much like his lame pony.
I think the question becomes when they DO bring it up does the broadcast show the photo with Joe having his arm around Sandusky
