If 33, 41 and 74 are black holes...

anyone ever hear rumors of a wrestler being on 'roids? I haven't until recently... guess my question is how it would be detected? No drug tests in NCAAs, right?

I am fairly certain there is pee in the bottle testing at all NCAA Championship Venues. Not sure if selection is random or all champions.

PEDS are certainly not restricted to football or MLB. Rumors about Tiger Woods were plentiful during his dominate years.

They were certainly around wrestling in 70s and 80s. It would be silly to think they are not available to wrestlers today.

Section 4•2 Drug Testing

Student-athletes who compete in NCAA championships may be subjected to drug tests in accordance with Bylaws 18.4.1.4 and 31.2.3, and may be determined to be ineligible as a result thereof. Only student-athletes who have consented in writing to such testing are initially eligible for these championships; and thereafter, student-athletes who are tested shall remain eligible only if they test negative.

In the D1 Manual...
18.4.1.4 speaks to "ineligibility"
31.2.3 contains a list of banned drugs

There are no holes in this lineup. We need to continue to get better at certain weights, but there are NO holes in this lineup. Let's head out to Nevada and see what happens there, then take it from there...

We have ran into a few snags at 133 with some situations, we are VERY close at 141 to breaking through, and we need to make a hard decision at 174. That's how I see it, but none of that is a "hole". Quality wrestlers to go at every spot.

There are 65 other programs in the country that would love to have holes so black.

As officer Barbrady would say, "MOVE ALONG PEOPLE, THERE'S NOTHING TO SEE HERE!"

(apologies for unbearable pedantry)...
* dominant or
* dominating

Dominate is a verb, and never an adjective

A common mistake by lots of fans, on all forums...though nitlion is so spelling-literate, I'm pretty sure it was a brain-fart...or something to that effect ;).

I'm with jto (unbearable pedantry)...so apologies, please.

Other misspellings include duel / dual, and the Creedo-like; to / too / two, their / there / they're, others?

Then there's the name thing; Gulibon / Gullibon, Retherford / Rutherford, Nickal / Nickle, Jered / Jerad, Suriano / Soriano, etc.

El-Jefe raises a great point...how much of this is auto-correct? ...or should we call it "auto-incorrect"?

Roar, I enjoyed the Creedo reference :). I'm thinking he can't blame auto correct..

My phone also autocorrects Creedo to Cruiseliner.

(Actually I just made that part up.)

I don't know why, but the common Zain/Zane mixup irritates me the most.

LOL. I bite my tongue every time I see that mistake, which unfortunately is quite often on these boards. Right up there with "should of/could of/would of"

Roar, I can't believe you posted a thread like this, and didn't include Streiber/ Strieber/ Striebler.

I usually let name misspellings slide, but dominate/dominant drives me batty.

It's a sign of the times. With so many people communicating via social media the English language taking a major beating these days. Took me a while but I finally stopped letting it bug me.

Too short, yes...and you weren't heading in this direction, I know...we should be able to at least get the names of our own wrestlers right.
