In Iowa desperation news…

So I rarely post here and I know you are not the only one to say he threatened to kill someone but please provide proof of that? If there is no proof in this day and age with cell phones and cameras at an event like that then I am going to go out on a limb and say it is not true. I have asked when it has come up multiple times and there has never been any. If you believe it because it is on a message board and then turn around and spew the same thing as truth with no proof then they won and you helped just like about everyone does now in politics. There should be an exam to have social media and be allowed to vote.
FWIW, I don’t think anyone but DeSanto and the people within earshot (the woman, either Tom or Terry, and perhaps some front row fans) really knows exactly what was said. That something bad was was said was visible on national TV, based on Tom/Terry’s reaction. That ADS was saying something in the direction of the woman was also apparent on the video.

Sorry if you knew all that already — I wasn’t sure. I’d assume Tom/Terry shared what was said with their inner circle . . . but who knows how leaky that might be.

It doesn't specify what he said, but we can surmise it was pretty bad.

Explain.

If his coach thought that whatever he said was bad enough to miss a trophy ceremony, and he apologized, does it really matter what exactly he said? Clearly something serious.

The thread over there keeps going...kinda like a car wreck I do not want to see but I can't help myself. A common thread seems to be if you don't want the Ferrari's at Iowa you are not a true Iowa fan.
Let me state for the record I am not a fan and I WANT them at Iowa. There hope that makes them feel better....

Nothing in the article says he told a reporter he was going to kill them. A comment did, is that who we are supposed to believe?

I am not saying that what he said was not bad enough to miss the ceremony but threaten to kill someone? Listen I am an Iowa fan and if this was said about a PSU wrestler I would ask the same thing. Prove it. I just hate how social media is branded as truth in this day and age. We don't need wrestling to turn out like every other piece of garbage out there.

OK, so then it's not the severity of the inappropriate comment, it's the "kill someone" part that makes it a sticking point?

Can't we stop beating up ADS? He's graduated. Let's just wish him well in the future and hope that he can be a positive influence on kids he is coaching. I think he has a good shot and I wish him the best.
I agree. This part of the argument is silly. Whatever he said was obviously severe enough that it carried a punishment with it, but all he did was say something. He didn't attack or assault or commit any actual harm against anyone (you know "sticks and stones" and stuff...). Obviously, you can't be allowed to get away with saying whatever you want to anyone you want, but he didn't, either, he was punished appropriately and it's been over for years.

"A common thread seems to be if you don't want the Ferrari's at Iowa you are not a true Iowa fan"

Can you show me where you see those common threads? I'd like to see just how common this is among Hawk fans.

It's probably being exaggerated a bit here but there was some fur flying between globalhawk and a few others on that thread. But there were a number of hawk fans on both sides of the issue.

Do a search for “bnicolls” - he’s all over adding those rascals from what I saw last visit to the site

Yes. I thought that was obvious but I might be mistaken. If people said "oh he must have said something bad to not be allowed on the stand" I would have said OK. When the narrative is "he said he would kill her" and it gets passed around as truth with no proof then I have a problem with it. Hell for all I know that is what he said and if it did happen I would say he should have been scratched from the tourney and all points deducted. I said some bad sh!t in my day but never threatened life.

I posted recently that I'm skeptical he threatened to kill someone and his punishment was limited to no points deducted and just not going to collect awards. That being said, I'm just speculating and giving him the benefit of the doubt.

It is possible it did happened but they were able to talk the lady out of making a bigger ordeal of it because ADS does have a legitimate mental condition he battles. @js8793 shared about Doc where he said he has threatened teammates before when he just was in the moment. But to my knowledge, I don't believe ADS has ever has violently acted out since his Drexel days.
