Iowa and PSU Unite!

Some really good match ups. JO v Zain as a stand alone is worth the price of admission. Ramos v Cory Clark will be another good one. I couldn’t seem to find the final team rosters to post them. Track did a good job of covering the draft event. Hope they do well.

Although that’s Interesting... something like what Ben Askren offered the Diaz bros, where they could alternate rounds might be fun to watch. This is a good first event for AWL. Hopefully it keeps getting better.

Anyone know if Dake and Taylor are going to wrestle. Matchups would be Dake against Dieringer and DT against Heflin or PD3.

For the most part, they clearly drafted dudes they knew were in wrestling shape. Green was a clear #1. How about team red with JO, Jerzy Tough, Winn AND PD3?

They had my money at Zain JO rematch but the whole event looks fun. They'd get double my money if Dake and DT wrestled as well. Lots of other good matchups there too, though. Dake and DT are doing a good job on the hype rollout.

I'm thinking of going. Tickets are pretty high imo.
100 for matside
75 section back
50 for an area that is difficult already to see.
I've been to the US Cellular Center many times so I have an idea what the seats will be like.
My questions are what the wrestling is like? 21 matches? 11 matches? 10 matches? Will they be on the jumbo trons so we can see better?

I really think both Taylor and Dake should be in the lineups to add to the drawing power of the event. We need to promote wrestling every way we can. That said it is still cool to see an event like this taking place.

Putting aside the PSU glasses -- Taylor outweighs Dake by 26 lb.

Cox and Snyder are much closer in weight.

So are Ramos and Gilman.

15 lbs by my math.

79 kg (174) vs 86kg (189)

That said, I don’t think we’ll ever see Taylor vs Dake again:

1. DT is a full 86 - probably walks around at 200+ now.
2. Dake has an eye on 74kg (163) for 2020.
3. After years of rivalry, those two recently seemed to have joined forces & almost have become each other’s biggest fans & supporters.

I must have missed something. Who suggested DT & Dake should wrestle each other? And the difference is definitely not 26 pounds.

While many fans would love to see one more Dake vs Taylor I just don't think it is in their best interests.

Right now they are both on top of the world in confidence coming off winning world gold. They are working together to further the sport of wrestling in the USA and this is a good thing. There is no need to make them into competitors again when they can do more good as allies. Even if they did it just for the publicity at a catchweight there is the possibility of an injury which does nobody any good.

Looking at the lineups it seems most of the guys involved are very very good and it is unfair to call them the B team as many of them haven't peaked and are still on the rise but the biggest current names in US freestyle aren't competing. No Burroughs, Snyder, Cox, Dake, Taylor, Stieber, Gwiazdowski. This league is helping the guys looking to work their way up to the top the opportunity to help support themselves financially and compete against strong competition and improve.
