Iowa news - 2024-25

We also met Kasak's little brother. Great personality on that rascal. He recently won a huge youth tournament in State College. His grip strength is incredible for a kid his age.

We also met a couple of Iowa posters with PSU Mike (who rocks!!) , they say Iowa is buying a line up that will compete with PSU next year. 197, 141, and 125 will be free agent signings and more.
Elam and Figueroa I assume but who are they thinking at 141?

Honestly, I read it and just kept scrolling. There's just no response to it because it idiotic and imbecilic. Even engaging someone who posted would have sullied my keyboard. It was just... f'ing weird.

And definitely NOT the consensus of the board. Come on man.
Well, you being an Iowa Wrestling Alum. You should have stuck up for the Integrity of sport and expected better out of the fans that cheered for you. Come on man!

I can’t blame Bassett because I’d probably take the money too, but I’m surprised someone would put that much effort in to the last 15 years of wrestling to trust the rest of my career to the Brand’s Brothers. I could’ve understood Oklahoma State. I know they say he got $5 million, but it’s not like Penn State or Oklahoma State would’ve given him zero. If he’s as good as people think he is, he would’ve made out really well financially. I don’t know how any objective wrestling person could think they would be developed properly at Iowa anymore.

I applaud the one year rentals for taking the cash. Guys like Parco or Teemer weren’t gonna win a national title, regardless of school. Take the check and hopefully save some of it.

I do wonder how long Slumlord Bob will keep spending this much money. You can’t be a moron and be this successful in business. At some point you would think he would want to see some return on his investment. I’m not saying he would stop giving, you would just think at some point he would use his influence to force them to hire a new coach. Very strange situation.

As a Penn State fan, I hope he keeps the Brands around for another 20 years
In fairness, I actually think there's a LOT of morons who are successful in some businesses for one reason or other

Years ago I told my grandpa - who, as I've mentioned elsewhere, hated Iowa - that when farmers in Iowa butcher, they don't make scrapple. He said they were a bunch of savages. Uncivilized scum.

I had a great Uncle that had a farm in a little town called Victor. I'd have to ask my cousins if he made scrapple.

Logistically, I think he was just always confused why you *wouldn't* make scrapple or something like it. By and large, you're just taking things that ordinarily aren't good to make more sausage and stretching them into more food with a pan sausage type.

So to him, not making scrapple, or something else it, was just a disgrace. Like, why the hell even have pigs? Plus, if you do it right, it really is delicious.

He was a real old timer. I miss him.

I don't think he's as good as people says he is. I'm sorry I just don't buy into that kind of hype. That's not to say he doesn't have talent but when he starts rolling around with men things will even out. Maybe I'm wrong but I just don't see it
