Iowa recruit Spencer Lee falls in PA finals. First ever HS loss. Watch here. Link:

Love Spencer Lee. I was more disappointed in his choosing Iowa than Marsteller going Hokie. He seems somewhat injury prone with a shoulder problem last year and now a knee. Seems unusual for a stud HS. Is it his style? Or just wrestling?

I guess we won't see Lee against Fix at Dapper Dan based on the injury reports.

I loved Spencer Lee. He is officially the enemy now but hope he doesn't have continued injury problems as that would be a bummer. I want him plenty healthy when we beat him.

Martellar went Pokie, not Hokie.

Hats off to DeSanto... however... the clock seems to have been at 0:00 for almost a full second before the ref awarded the 2. The actual takedown should have been awarded earlier, before the roll through (at least by college standards... DeSanto had control and Lee had his hand on the mat), but it looks like the ref didnt decide on the score until after the roll, when time had expired. So... the right kid won, but the ref was tardy on the call.

Why was Lee sitting on the mat, not returning to the center. It did not look like there was an injury clock running or any trainer help for him - just sitting there, then finally returning to center...What am I missing here?

Pretty sad for a great warrior. Looked like he was barely able to wrestle due to his injury but put it in the line anyway. Character

A lot of interesting things for this board tonight. The clinicians on here should be able to:

Dissect Lee's injury and decide if he's a better wrestler if he cuts off his leg

Determine via a flurry of pictures if DiSanto scored before time expired and who the real winner is

Ascertain how many "holes" are allowed in a lineup to actually win the championship using Nazareth as a model.

Reconcile the number of actual beers left in my fridge vs empty ones and the correlation between my vertical and horizontal positioning.

Technically, in my viewpoint it was a bad call. Was it a takedown in college? Yes. In high school? No. He does not get the actual takedown until a full second after the clock ticks to zero. That is my thoughts on the call.

The clock that was being shown was from a different mat. One of the many replays caught a glimpse of the right clock. Ref made the call in time.

I believe you, but you certainly can't tell by that crack unit at Flo and their coverage.

Delta -1 beers in fridge = horizontal Cowbell.

Someone mentioned his knee in his 6-0 semi win. Teasdale tweeted he has a torn ACL. I doubt they would make an injury public information prior to championship final. The tweet I saw was basically criticizing the crowd for applauding?? So he (and again Teasdale is a high school kid) is taking the applause as applauding the Lee loss not the Desanto victory?

On another note, my stepson watching the match live said Lee didn't really look like he was hurt. Again, opinion of a high schooler.....

Maybe you don't know the answer, but why were the coaches pointing at the clock? Were they not aware which clock was on their mat?
It was very close either way imo, but just a curious protest at the end if that wasn't even the right clock.

Because they're coaches, that's what they do. The clock probably was zero by the time they looked up from the mat.

From what I can tell, Lee tore not ruptured his acl a month ago, he has been trying to rehab. He ruptured it in the semis, still went out and wrestled a great opponent in the finals and came up short. Congrats to both!!

Thanks for correction, didn't know there was 2 Exeters . I only knew the one up in coal crakin country.

This Exeter is on the outskirts of Reading (still a ways from Hershey). My friends in Berks County are happy campers tonight.
