Even Iowa fans have to admit your post is funny considering how much they dogged Cael for bringing in the best recruits he possibly can.... even if it meant someone would have to sit.
I called it building championship teams....they call it recruiting over kids and screwing them out of a spot. I'd love it if Tom Brands adopted their mentality...
DeSanto moving up to 141 may have something to do with this. They already had too many guys at that weight. I guess they are penciling Teasdale in at 133 this season. Certainly introduces some uncertainty into their lineup.

I think right now Iowa has three 165s between Marinelli, Brands and Kemerer. Kem has the best frame to build into 174 but with his injures who knows where he is at. Will be interesting to see how things play out.

i think there will be a wrestle off for the spot but we may never know that there was 1 and the winner may not get a choice of weights.
Why have a wrestle-off then?! If the winner doesn’t get choice of weight what’s the purpose?
Not to say this is actually happening, but theoretically, there is a chance to give the appearance of fairness and achieve the desired result. It looks sketchy only if the outcome of the wrestle-off isn't the desired one.
Regardless, I think it's crazy to put Marinelli anywhere but 165.
With some serious Iowa Hawk room training that is a lineup that will show up pushing hard for those stall calls and a solid third place finish.
