Jeff George Jr

Will that improve their recruiting rankings? - they said last year that since Max Browne was a 5 star out of high school that should be used for Pitt’s ranking last year - Pitt logic at its finest.

supposedly enrolled at Pitt. Was a 2 star and played briefly at Illinois. This will be huge for Pitt, lmao
Dating myself here, but his Dad threw three TDs to my guy. His Dad had an incredible arm and could throw anywhere from anywhere. I still don’t believe one of those throws he made against me is possible; rolling to his left, he hit my guy on the run on the opposite sideline. I went back to the sideline, and my DB coach just shrugged his shoulders.

Yes, Senior has a true rifle for an arm. Incredibly quick getting the ball out, too

I'm hearing the grandson of Dick Butkus is transferring from UCLA to Pitt. He has only played volleyball, but intends to compete for a LB position with the Panthers. The Lair is excited and quote " if your grandfather is Butkus, its good enough for us."

I got a laugh at this comment in an article over on the Lair

“With George Jr. on the roster, Pitt’s quarterback group has now grown to eight.”

Dating yourself is cheaper and with fewer arguments.

Jeff George lives part of the year in a high rise penthouse condo in Naples. My buddy is on the floor below his. Jeff is a quiet guy in residence at least.

Really? I'm honestly asking cause I've always been under the impression he was a complete jackass.

Yessir. He is rocking it quietly .
Good for Mr. George. Like I said above, that is my impression of him playing in the NFL. I'm truly glad he let it behind and is a chill guy now. I admired him as a player and would be glad to shake his hand some day.

After "One Game Wonder" Pickett flames out, both pitt fans will be begging for George to play. Getting other team's discards is what coaches do when they can't recruit decent high school kids.

I know that. What I meant was it appears he will not play much at Pitt with Pickett as the anointed one.

Maybe beggars can't be choosers. Besides, if he never plays, there are always the opera and symphony performances on Saturday afternoons.

To be fair, adding George as their backup QB for the next two years behind Pickett isn't the worst thing. He's thrown for over 1600 yards....has more picks than TDs but he at least has game experience. I mean, we're talking about Pitt but Bama here. He's depth

Yeah but they also have Ricky Towne for that exact same reason and he was a 4 star out of high school before he transferred or never played for 1/2 the teams in D1 and a JC. This really makes no sense to tie up a scholly on George if in fact they gave him one.

it's not like they are turning away top tier kids to bring in George. I'd probably play George before Town

The only reason this makes any sense is to protect Patti's redshirt. They lost two QB's last year and are afraid it might happen again.

If Pickett runs into any injuries, they're cooked anyway - they just want to make sure they don't have to pull a redshirt just to get a QB on the field.

I thought he showed a little moxie in his brief Illinois playing stints. Illinois was atrocious so hard for any QB to get anything going there.
