John Petrishen enters transfer portal

Anyhow, this thread has certainly taken a detour in typical Lair fashion.

But to add to the Wade running back discussion (wherever that came from), Wade played RB at the Class A level, while Sanders was at AAAA. Trying to compare them at all is ridiculous. Plus, Sanders was a 2nd round pick who is now in the NFL, so the entire argument is rather moot, particularly since Wade isn't a running back anymore and nobody would argue that he'd be better than Sanders, anyhow.

Although I do gleefully recall that on the Lair, Barkley was stated a hundred times to be overrated, and Sanders was labeled a bust. You sure have astute judges of talent over there, so I take what you say with a rather large grain of salt anyhow.

While we're at it, didn't Ford play RB at his last couple of high schools? I seem to remember that he did. Maybe you could compare him to Sanders, while you're at it. He may have even played against Sanders before he washed out of Central Catholic, although not at RB, I suppose.

I would argue the most impact that he has had so far would be blocking traffic on the Parkway in Pittsburgh for that idiotic protest he took part in. I actually know a couple of cops who flat out told me he had he got 1 inch closer to the cop, he would have been catching a police shield to the jaw. The expectation for Wade was a little higher than it was for Ford because Wade was a pumped up five-star recruit. The truth of the matter is, Wade was a better running back then Miles Sanders was in high school. Everyone in Pittsburgh knew that Wade playing on defense at the collegiate level was a mistake because he wasn’t big enough.
At last we have uncovered the problem. You must be Duzz’s recruiting co ordinator and chief talent evaluator. No wonder that place is stocked with talent and all playing the correct positions!!!!!!!!!

Your cop buddies must be pretty stupid, then, considering Wade was never at the Parkway protests. And even if he was, if I’m choosing between Lamont Wade and a bunch of cops cowering behind wholly-unnecessary riot shields, I know who I’m throwing my support behind regardless of what football uniform he wears.

I'm all for kids going where they want to go, but to me this is where the transfer rules fall apart. How is it fair to one team when a player can transfer to a team that they are going to be facing on the field in a month's time?

Remember that episode of The White Shadow where one of the players goes to another school, then comes back.... "#15 can't go to his left"

Maybe not specific Pitt preparations, but you can't tell me he's not taking some of what he's seen with him.

Yeah, whatever your doing, keep doing it.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph that was a TV program. If you’re not big enough, strong enough, fast enough or talented how the hell does “ he can’t go to his left “ help you? It’s probably more demoralizing knowing in advance that your opponent is going to do something and you can’t stop it.

I love that you rebutted that he was there, and in the next sentence, admitted that he could have been. That’s called talking out of your ass, a skill that Penn State people have perfected over the years. Hint, he was there, and then he was interviewed by CNN after, making an ass out of himself on National TV. I remember when he committed to Penn state, he talked about building his rapper brand. I wonder how that’s going because when he would release some music, it was straight trash.

Yes, heaven forbid student-athletes stand up for the causes that they believe in.

No rebuttal needed. The protest Lamont Wade attended where he was interviewed by CNN was on Carson Street in the South Side, not the Parkway. You’d think a bunch of ticket-writers would know that those are different roadways, but alas.

He made his post up. He doesn't know any cops, either. It's the same as when people on the Lair claimed that Saquon Barkley was drunk at THON and they threw him out.

Remind me again what Lamont Wade has done.
Well, he would have started at Pitt the past 2 years. You see moron, there's a ton of difference between Pitt's talent level and our's. Even that personality challenged Nardouchebag would acknowledge that. By the way, I see you guys are bringing in another Narduzzi bonanza recruiting class. Nice!

Wait until UVA walks into Heinz Field next Saturday night and beats them, and I completely believe that will happen. That will get another Pitt season off to a rousing start. Maybe their head coach can attract a UVA graduate transfer before that game.

The 2019 Pitt team has sparked no buzz in Pittsburgh; it's a team that had to replace almost their whole o-line and top two running backs from 2018, and lost their best defensive player to a knee injury. They also have a qb who barely could throw for more than 50 yards a game last season although every defense they played sold out to stop the run. Pitt is a below average program that plays in a terrible division in a below average conference. That's their reality.

So you're saying a citizen shouldn't be able to protest because you don't believe the way he does. That's rich.

Maybe you should just leave. You sound like the idiots on the Lair currently trashing the guy. If you idiots think you're getting a bunch of info from Johnny, you're even dumber than I thought. Game plans don't go in until game week. But yeah, the Duzz is setting down with him to get all the info. Lmao.

I have no comment on LM being there or not - I try not to pontificate on subjects I don't have knowledge on - but your reading comprehension is weaker than the ACC Coastal. No where did he "admit" Wade could have been there. I suspect you didn't fare very well on the verbal section of the SAT and throwing around terms like "talking out your ass" has a lot of irony. You can find the definition of irony here.

You are saying Pitt fans on the Lair actually believe Petrishen is going to hand over the PSU game plan? LOL. That's absurd on so many levels. First, as you mentioned, Penn State hasn't even begun to game plan for week 3. At least not with the players. On top of that, even the Pitt coaches are smart enough to learn more from actual game tape than anything Petrishen might be able to tell them.

You honestly can't see a scenario where that scenario doesn't help the opposition?

Well, he's currently first string at safety on a defense that finished #11 in the S&P+ rankings last year and should be better this year. Probably won't be too much of a factor against Pitt and Kenny "8 yards passing" Heisman though.

I try hard to give people the benefit of the doubt, but that has to be by far the most ignorant fanbase online I've ever read. That includes the pay board. The sad part is, Peak is allowing them to trash John for no reason. I didn't know it was up to fans to give the okay where a person is allowed to go to college.

If he told the coaches before camp he was transferring then I doubt he participated in camp and probably had no access to playbooks. That's what I would expect if a player announced his intentions. That said, he is obviously a smart guy so he would probably be able to recognize some intentions of our defense by the sets. He might be able to help the PITT staff with a few PSU defensive nuances.

Let me add that it will surely be a very weird feeling for JP being on the opposite sideline in the Beav after being part of PSU's team and actually having lettered @ PSU. How do you in 5 weeks flip that switch? Dunno, gotta be difficult.

He really wasn't in camp. No matter, he won't be able to help them much at all. Pitt already has tape on us. Furthermore, game plans don't go into effect until game week.

Yes, it’s obviously better than nothing. It happens in all sports baseball trades and basketball and others. However any advantages one side accrues is usually very limited especially when one team is so much more talented. As I said before, having an idea what you’re opponent is going to do and having the ability to stop it are two completely different things. You could know in advance that Saquon is getting the ball on a sweep to the right, but I sincerely doubt that you and I ( or most college defenses ) could consistently bottle him up.

One of the Lair geniuses has claimed that the only reason he's there is for whatever scouting/intelligence he can provide, because their DB's are already better than ours.
Yes That was that genius nine ntl championships.Their dbs are going to get a case of wind burn
