1. Yes, the sun did come up this morning even though we lost yesterday.
2. Had we won the game, in the end, no one would be talking about the two-point conversion attempt.
3. As bad as we played we still had a chance at the end of the game to win it.
4. Clifford said the ball was going to Dotson on the last play. You know the guy that was mugged going for the ball over the middle and never had a chance to catch it. In fact, he was mauled so bad it turned him around and no call for PI.
5. For those on this board calling for Franklin's head on a platter, what will happen when the next coach pisses down his leg? Are you going to call for his head too? They all have bad games and make stupid calls sometimes, it's called being human!
6. We need more than two WO's and two TE's who can catch and someone needs to take a step forward. Hamler, Dotson, Friermuth and Bowers cant do it all. Way too many dropped passes for the other guys!
7. The OL actually looked pretty good yesterday in pass protection and so so in run blocking.
8. Brown and Cain should be our RB's with a few plays for Ford as well. Not sold on Slade although he can catch out of the backfield well. His blocking leaves a lot to be desired though.
9. Just my thoughts!:)

2. I'd still be criticizing it. The result has nothing to do with the criticism.
I agree with 1, 3, 5, 6, 7 and most of 8 though :)

Clifford stared Dotson down the entire route. The hardest thing for a young QB is to work the progressions. Clifford will be much improved in year two.

Yeah I think so too and from the look on his face at the post game interview he doesn’t like losing either. That’s good and it should piss him off and motivate him to do better..

10. Franklin is still not a good game day coach. That didnt change overnight either.
Well maybe he’s a slow learner? I’ll bet if you go to the Alabama board this morning they are calling for Saban’s head as well? They are probably having an epic meltdown over there?

Looks to me like Dotson stumbled and fell down. IF he stays in his feet, we most likely win. lots of plays made a difference but that one was key at a critical point. He makes that play and we’re all talking Journey and KJ with + 100 yds and Cliff with a gutty performance on an off day. Game of inches.

Play of the game was the first interception. Good throw and it’s 6. Any degree of awareness by Shorter and it’s just an incompletion.

Anyone calling for Saban's head should be banned given the number of titles he's won. He and Dabo are pretty much the only two coaches (now with Urban gone) that get a pass from time to time. Their longevity and high level of success speaks for itself. Plus, losing to #2 is never worth a meltdown.

Saban got up and shined the 6 Nat Trophies in the case. PSU is not even in the conversation of Ala / Clem/ Dabo or Saban.

LSU is a great team with equal talent. Minny has half the talent of PSU...

I thought the defender grabbed him? I'll have to go back and look at it again...

Great point on Shorter and same could be said about Hamler on the second pick. Our receivers don’t attack the ball and try to ‘high point’ it. On both of those picks, Winfield was the aggressor and he got the ball. If Shorter was aggressive, he probably outbodies Winfield for the ball and if Hamler goes for it, he might at least knock it away, maybe catches it. There was a bomb earlier in season (Michigan maybe?) that Hamler had the ball hit him in the helmet. Attack the ball and not wait for it to settle in, that’s a catch. That would be my one criticism of Hamler at least.

They may have half the talent but they used it all yesterday.

But you know there are some calling for his head. It's always that way after a loss, sad but true...

That's where McSorley had the advantage, he knew those guys would fight for the ball. So he could throw a pass that was questionable knowing they would come up with it. These guys now (with the exception of Friermuth) won't fight for it.

Talking about long completion where he was headed for the end zone.
No the one at the end of the game, the last interception....Oops! Never mind I see what you're saying now. I haven't had enough coffee this morning yet!

Minny certainly didn’t have half the talent at QB, OL, receiving corps, RB and safety

The use of half of that talent was on display. Very impressive performance by Minny. Great coaching and great playing. Gives me further pause as I think about our coaching....
Yes, they exposed every weakness we had yesterday and they played well.

I believe that will come with experience. Also, needs to work on climbing the pocket. When he does, the results are better than when he's flat-footed and just slinging it. Just a little work on fundamentals and he's going to be really good. Oh, and if his receivers catch the f'n ball his stats would be better too:)

Well if you notice he didn't hold the ball for long either before he threw it. Then there was the fact the receivers actually caught the damn ball!

He should have been throwing to Hamler, would have been the winning Td had is man beat and Winfield was not going get there.

The Hamler play was kind of a mess. I think he was trying to come back to the ball and was hit by the CB (from my recollection that is. I’m certainly not watching again to make sure). Not sure what made Clifford throw that to begin with. Shorter had all kinds of time to adjust to that and just didn’t.

9. Just my thoughts!:)

In the end the biggest issue with this team is that our DL gets no pressure on opposing QBs.

I thought we had talent at DE but yesterday when I watched 99 I saw him get crushed multiple times and rarely apply pressure to the QB.

Well I don’t think it was the right call but I’m not being paid to make it either. I’m also not a football expert so there’s that!
And I’m waiting for him to show us all his outraged posts from the MSU game when Franklin went for two in the 2nd quarter and made it...haven’t seen those yet.

He didnt hold the ball and it nullified PSU pass rush and blitzing which was considered a strength. Perfect scheme..... The quick pass with our defenders play 10 yds off was pitch and catch... another perfect scheme. PSU should have adjusted in a series or two but we didnt and he was 18 - 20... missed two passes all f ing day. That is totally on PSU as Minny did nothing but exploit and easily exploitable defense. Textbook how to nullify a fierce pass rush. The shit was happening so quick....there was no risk with the pass.. To your point... they caught the ball...wide open... 8-10 yrd passes... pitch and catch

Was Matos going against the 400 pounder? If so that's a lot of beef to be moving around all afternoon!

Observations:

1. The defense under Franklin/Pry gets absolutely shredded by mid-tier QBs who seem to be able to hit every receiver at will all game long.

2. There are two receivers on offense -- Hamler and Freiermuth -- who can catch a ball. The others don't even need to be covered.

If I'm not mistaken one of his 2 incomplete passes happened when he was hit as he was throwing and was a wounded duck that fell to the turf

I think Dotson and Bowers do a good job and certainly don't miss as many as some do.
