Conel is going to PSU next year. at this point in time.
They are happy teasedale is visiting Iowa City this weekend

Yes, early in the season he tweeted he was done wrestling, i think I might have added a probably. Then on Feb 1st he tweeted he was entering the transfer portal with a partial release.
We'll never fully know what the issue was, granted it wasn't positive. If he goes to Iowa they might start looking like the Cincy Bengals. They love high risk talent, but it hasn't worked out all that well. I hope he turns things around and doesn't t end up a bad influence.
I would rather see him at Iowa State myself. Every year ISU gets better HR gets crazier as they won't know where to direct their anger.

I actually think Beard is better than Conel. I’m sure it wouldn’t be a bad thing to have Beard take a redshirt and have another year to get better however. Having another stud in the room is always nice so if he is healthy and wants to compete I would love for him to come here

We have Beard for up to 5 more years. Which 4 of them will be his best 4? Probably not the first.
It's not like Conel is some scrub. He just finished 3rd at nationals, has some freestyle chops -- and a few years ago pushed Morgan hard at nationals. The injury risk is mitigated by having Beard available.
I’m actually really happy for Conel no matter where he ends up. His story is amazing and the struggles he has dealt hit close to home.
Nationally and especially in conference.
Next year without Bo: Moore, Warner, Brunner (16-7), Schultz (18-7). The NW shirt looks good but he's not the reason Beard is at PSU. Good chance Striggow gets beaten out by Davison -- who Beard beat 11-3 at the Edinboro Open 2 weeks ago.
I don’t know how in any world - this or some other parallel universe, bringing in Conel is anything but a positive thing. Gives Beard a year to get better and stronger and spaces out our talent more evenly on the back end.

i would imagine nothing is guaranteed. Beard does well in wrestle-offs and the scuffle (or similar event) he might win the spot. But, I don't know what the plan is...
