Lawnboyz chain?

I've been watching the game (didn't see it live) and I was caught off guard by the Lawnboyz bling. Looks cool - wonder if each 'nickname' group will get one? 'Aces', 'Wild Dawgs', etc.

Dontcha think that getting to wear that chain might provide a little extra incentive to get into the end zone? That’s what I think made Miami’s turnover chain so great was that once it became a thing, that defense got better and the turnovers grew. If the 4 RBs are pushing each other harder in practice and games to get better and succeed because of that chain, that’s a win-win in my book.

However, if you fumble, you’re grounded for a month from the chain.

Exactly what I was thinking. It provides a little incentive and competition.
If we on't allow a chain like this, maybe rubs recruits the wrong way. I know, I know, we are different than other schools, but a little change isn't so bad.
BTW, anyone see the belt North Carolina had yesterday? It was bigger than the one Hulk Hogan wore when he was WWF champ.

It’s a stupid, low class, verging on punk like piece of crap that should be deep sixed immediately. It represents the “look-at-me” culture that is 180 degrees away from the no name on your back, plain white and blue image, that is Penn State.

If you don’t understand my point, let me put it this way.. I hate the POS.
Hate to blow your mind, but...

Oh so we “never” get mocked by other teams? You should have seen some of the signs we saw on the way to the stadium Friday night. So if players want to have some fun, let them. The Lawnboyz done ripped up the turf at Capital One Stadium Friday night.
The chain is tiny compared to, let’s say:

I am well aware and first hand witness to what the other schools fans think. And that stuff went on even before Sandusky - just not quite as crudely. By why not keep our calling card do things with class? Lawnboyz chains “stuff” are immature and will boomerang on us (with other teams) as the competition gets better. The RBs played well on Friday - but let’s not get carried away. Clifford was the leading rusher.

Yeah a Miami is tearing it up.

Totally agree and what’s with this stupid forward pass crap - if a fullback is not in the game and the QB isn’t under center to hand it off for 3 yards and a cloud of dust it isn’t PSU Football and no one should ever watch it again - bunch of crap - and who hid my geritol?

Yea, a Lawnboyz chain is real bulletin board stuff.

What other teams do is different, mostly turnover related. "Lawnboyz" is representative of camaraderie among running backs, we can support that and still rip those other turnover monstrosities.

Why?? It’s the same concept.

I hope Flavor Flav himself is on the sidelines next Saturday to scream “Yeah Boy!” into a microphone that projects over the stadium sound system every time PSU scores.

It isn't 1970. Embrace change.

I guess if you have no standards and convictions that would be a viable alternative. For those of us who believed in the grand experiment, and still do, your suggestion leaves a sour taste in our mouths.

Care to explain how passing around a goofy chain on the sidelines prevents our players from fulfilling the grand experiment of playing football, staying out of jail, and graduating?

I mean I can understand how it is offensive to anyone who has ever used a properly tuned Lawn-Boy, which would never tear up the grass, but other than that......

Boomerang on us? Seriously?? It's a bunch of kids sitting on the bench having fun and wearing tacky piece of jewelry while celebrating good play.

If a tree falls in the forest....

Probably best for players to stay off social media during the season and avoid getting trolled by bait-click headlines.

Understand their point. The LawnBoyz don’t give a F what you think or hate.

There was a time with this program when we had a leader who taught people that what others think of you matters.
You think less of a kid because he wears a chain? I don’t remember that part in the grand experiment.

I like that guy rocking the chain is the guy who puts the ball on the lawn more than the others. mow that lawn
