Lee and Teasdale

I haven't followed this as closely as some, but obviously it's a package deal of sorts?
Besides Teasdale, are there other 2018 top prospects who have committed already?
Joe Lee - PSU. Nobody else top 20 in their weight (I think).

Not committed, but most expect Rocky Jordan to get a tan, and Gable Steveson to join his Goofer brother. And of course we think Seth Nevills is headed our way.

No to be serious i love talking to Spence. Great kid. Just very disappointed we didn't get him from our own backyard....
Gooooooood lord - you talk to Spence too? Is this at your house with all the football players who give you the inside scoop on our 24 of 27 too short QB?

It might be sarcasm in response to all the NLWC slush fund comments always thrown around over at HR. In fact, a savvy troll may use the Young Guns angle to combat that silliness. Lol

fine but dont bring Jody into it. Hes too good to wrestling n general and pa wrestling specifically to have some read this on our board and have it become something it isnt. this board is better than that.

Questioning Strittmatter's ethics without substantive proof is highly embarrassing. Well, at least to those of us who are capable of being embarrassed.
I never questioned his ethics. I know nothing about him. I am trying to have legit conversation.

You're preaching to the choir here. You won't see me doing that but I'll guarantee this won't be the last time you see it here or over at HR. Trolls look for all the angles, that just how they work. I think that sort of stuff is snuffed out rather quickly here and it should be.

I honestly think IU is being legit here. He seems to believe that's how things are done in the cutthroat world of recruiting and not against NCAA rules as well. Not everyone is in tune with NCAA rules and regulations or what is or isn't considered ethical during the process. Hell... I'm one of them.

Thanks. I'll just shut up and lurk. Just figured out that Jody never wrestled for Iowa.

I do think Spyker has a point with Iowa taking both Lee and Teasdale. PSU is very young and has limited scholarships. You'd think PSU would find a way, but maybe they said they could only take one or the other. Congrats to both. Does anyone know the plan for Mark Hall? Is he coming in and redshirting? Is he delaying his enrollment, then redshirt or is there a chance we see him at 165 as a true freshman? Thanks.

No...from what I heard, Mark wants to take a Gray shirt and wrestle freestyle, then maybe redshirt and come on in. Kid really loves his freestyle.

Sorry about the "capable of being embarrassed" line, was a bit strong.

And let's make no mistake about this: if Stritt were paid by Brands to funnel kids to Iowa, that's a massive ethical problem for both of them, esp. for Stritt -- and even more so for the kids being funneled or neglected accordingly. This isn't a deep concept.

I'm gonna say one more thing and go away. What I see is unprecedented. It's strange to me. So no, Young Guns coaches don't get money to help maintain a club in PA. Not ethical. Not right. But, it's like Duke University basketball players running a year long basketball camp/club downtown Indianapolis.

And seeing their prize kids year after year go to North Carolina and Michigan State and Kansas and Villanova and Syracuse and Kentucky for 4+ years before any chose Duke. And being very OK with it because the goal was to make the kids great, not send them to Duke.

I'm really disappointed and hope they both change their minds. The Lee / Suriano one-two punch could have been legendary and key for 10 all-Americans. Don't like the idea that the top 2 Pa studs in the past few years both opted for out of state... Wonder if Nico and Jason simply didn't press enough... or what? oh well...

I imagine Nick Lee could start as a true freshman at 141 if Suriano and Cortez hold their weight an extra year.

Who was the other one, Chance? Anyone could tell in their senior year that Nolf had passed Chance by.

Despite losing Lee and Teasdale, I can guarantee you no one in the wrestling world is feeling sorry for Penn State tonight.

The roster is still loaded now and well into the future.
EGG- zactly! Geez - what are we being po-faced about? This is a setback, but we are in the Honey Hole of all Honey Holes for wrestling talent, plus have major interest from out-of-state superstars like Busiello and Big Snacks.

People were gushing about Chad Red. Well our first recruit of this year took him to the wire at Indiana states and is a grade behind Red - plus he's got a superstar younger brother who verballed to us.

This is why bonus points are so important in this team sport. Good for Iowa. This makes the landscape a little more interesting for sure.

Let's go Lions.

Let's not put this on Nico or Jason.

As far as "the top 2 PA studs in the past few years" goes, I'll take my chances with this guy.
