Lee and Teasdale

Lee is a good high school wrestler. But he never beat good college guys. Remember Marsteller beating college guys as a 8th grader. Lee... Not so much. Good for Iowa... Not so good for Lee. He is about to learn a big lesson... Welcome to the big leagues. And Teasdale .... Who cares ?

Complete jackoff, mouthbreather analysis... You're an embarrassment to the Penn State wrestling program. Any shred of credibility you had just got flushed down the toilet. What a sad life you must lead.

Btw, Where's that dimwit Flying Tiger with his less than valuable 2 cents??

We can handle our own guys just fine without your two pennies, so take it back to your board.

Actually, there is some merit to what JD is saying. Let me preface what I'm about to say in that Lee and Teasdale are amazing high school wrestlers, and Lee has had a lot success at the international level. I would have loved for both of them to come to Penn State -- and either could still change their mind before they sign with Iowa.

With that being said, there are no guarantees in this sport. Kids that are good in elementary aren't always successful at the junior high level. Kids that are good in junior high, don't always excel at the varsity level. And we have all seen good high school kids who don't pan out in the D1 college ranks.

Lee and Teasdale are outstanding high school talents and hard working kids. If I was a Hawkeye fan, I would be delighted, just like I was thrilled when Mark Hall and Suriano committed to Penn State. The odds are pretty good that they will all have a successful career. But there isn't a guarantee.

And let me say thank you Captain Obvious... With all due respect.

The irony of you guys telling me to take it to my own board is just pure gold.

Exactly, on HR it's being restated how they wanted Lee over Suriano all along too, happens everywhere .

By people who don't know what they're talking about.. TnT aggressively pursued Suriano. But Lee has always been TnTs #1 target. Usually Terry doesn't get too involved with recruiting, but not in Spencer's case.

So perhaps Iowa's investment has finally paid off? Gotta wonder what is to come. Think Jody gets cash from Iowa to supplement his income?
You need to read Spencer's Iowa commitment letter, he specifically said that Jody stayed out of it completely and we have heard that sentiment from other recruits as well.

Iowa hired CP to stop Willie's recruiting. Better watch out Willie, CP's coming after you're Recruiter of the Year award. Lol.

I'm a little disappointed, but overall this is good for the sport. Not too concerned for us. Iowa needs Spencer Lee more than Penn State needs him. I trust in our coaching staff until I'm proven wrong. Over the last seven years I've seen so many of our wrestlers show so much improvement. Not just our top guys either. Vollrath, English, Conaway, Gino just to name a few. Wrestlers who showed a lot of development from hard work and great coaching. Cael and company recruits a very specific type of athlete that's fits the mold of what they want a Penn State wrestler to be and I'm sure they'll find the depth they'll need. WE ARE.....
Maybe we should start Brands type thread, that Willie's got to go - he can't recruit. CP really cleaned Willie's clock on this one.;)

It's not a matter of you taking it to your own board. Just improve the quality of your posts...

Didn't say anything that wasn't true. I could give a rip what you think of my posts. The clown absolutely stinks of sour grapes! Who cares about a 2x champ sophomore who just teched his way through states?! Gimme a friggin' break. The insecurity is genuinely priceless.

To clarify. Not rooting for anyone who is AT Iowa representing the U of Iowa. I always root for all USA wrestlers competing against the rest of the world. Will be rooting for Dennis like crazy this summer and hope he brings back the Gold.

Nothing wrong with this. My mild dislike for Frank ended the Monday after he won trials. Now let's get that weight qualified!!

Rooting against a USA guy, just because he wrestled for a rival university, is just ridiculous in my opinion, including Dake.
I'd root for Dake if he made the team, but with the certainty that if he had success he'd quickly say or do something that made it impossible to be happy for him. But root for him within the context of a match? Yeah, I could do that.

Now an interesting quandary, would be if you had a Penn State guy wrestling in the Olympic finals, for another country, against an Iowa USA guy. I'd have think on that one for a while.

Not the same thing, but it's at least interesting that NLWC's Franklin Gomez prevented Brent Metcalf from qualifying 65kg, and now Frank has to go to Mongolia.

April 5, 2020 (AP) Only months after his sheepish return to the Hawkeye Wrestling Club, and after two years of living out of his truck, Tony Ramos defeated fellow Hawkeye and medal hopeful Spencer Lee, sweeping the college sophomore in the best-of-three finals of the U.S. Olympic Team Trials at Carver Hawkeye Arena.

Following the defeat, a visibly shaken Lee spoke to Flo's Christian Pyles, and held nothing back. "How would you feel if you were told that you were The Man and then you see Terry in Ramos' corner?" After being told that it was actually Tom in Ramos' corner, a shocked Lee complained, "How the hell can anyone tell the difference? Seriously, I have no idea."

Lee also lamented not having gone to Penn State, reasoning that he'd "at least have gotten to play some dodgeball."

For his part, Tony Ramos was typically low key and philosophical. "Out there in the truck, I didn't have internet and could visualize myself initiating takedowns. Did you know that you can shoot before the other guy shoots? Things you learn living in a truck, man."

Ok...this is some seriously awesome stuff.

Never go against the family...shit like this happens.

My wife knew Lee was headed to Iowa when she heard of Spencer's girlfriend. And she stayed with this point of view for over a year regardless of what I would say to sway her. She's smart when it comes to people when she gets enough info on them. She also says it was a bad decision for him because winning is very important to him. She claims he will never win a team title at Iowa. I have to agree.

Unless they get a few more top shelf recruits, you're right they don't have a strong shot at a team title

Actually they have a chance next year but need everything to roll right for them, and a bunch of breaks on the other side too. But, they have Gilman and Clark, both of whom will be preseason #1 guys at 125 and 133.

I think it would improve his odds to win a team title with Iowa. A lot more can happen in 5-6 years compared to the next 4 years. Assuming nothing out of the ordinary, Penn State should be in the drivers seat the next 4 yrs. Okie State I think will be 2nd, followed by Iowa, etc. I think Ohio State will be hurting if Snyder wins in the Olympics as I expect.

I think my son is going to follow girlfriend to college as well. Hard to interfere but generally not a good idea...

Still a big issue with bonus points as well. Even their top guys don't bonus much in the tournament while we'll have at least 3 guys bonusing most of the way through. Ohio State has that type of firepower as well.

Ugh. Women. Can't live with them, but can't live without them. Sorry anyone here in LGBT.

Its 11 months from now, but next year is setting up to be epic with the team race.

Plenty of reason to think he can be a good size 133 from our board, which includes posts by his dad.
Brian Courtney worked Mejia and no one in the nationwide wrestling community really knew who he was two weeks prior.
