Lehigh Match Thread!!

Last year, those 6 and 7 year Seniors at Iowa underperformed. It's tough to be in a room that long and stay motivated and just staying at the same level let alone improving. My opinion, Dean is just getting his feet wet early season and will begin to turn it on after New Year. Individual planning for Dean. Just as there's probably a different kinda plan for RBYs final season.

While I may have prematurely said I felt bad for Beard, I feel much worse for Max if he is indeed having woman issues. They can easily screw up everything.
Lots of examples of that in our past, as well as family trauma interfering. It can be a big deal.

Look, I will apologize and admit when I am out of line. Which I apparently was here.

I didn’t not mean it as a personal critique of Max. Merely that relative to his abilities I thought he looked far below his best. I’d bet if you’d ask him he’d agree. But the phrasing probably could have been better and for that I apologize.
You weren't out of line. Don't apologize nor should you have to. You typed what you were thinking on a fan message board. Big deal! It wasn't an atrocious statement by any means and its not like you're going on and on about it.

If someone doesn't like your opinion they can eat shit!

Just going to put this out there.
Friday, Brooks sat out, Dean looked slow, a little weak and not himself. A couple others looked sluggish and I thought he (Cael) may have selectively pushed a few guys hard this week.
Today, RBY sits and a 125 pounder takes his place. Facundo looked sluggish, Carter even though he won by 14, through 2 periods he looked sluggish. Brooks won 8-3 against a guy we might expect Aaron to dominate. Then Mr gas tank himself had no gas in the tank against Beard.

In central PA, hospitals are getting a shit load of positive RSV results right now. It wouldn't surprise me if a bug is pacing through the room.

Just saying.

lehigh clearly out-developing psu in the upperweights!

kidding aside, that was a war and basically changes nothing of what we knew about 197 coming in. both of those guys can win, along with several others. we saw another potential finals match in iowa-isu today too imo. i actually think bastida is the most talented at the weight, and his lack of mat competence is the only reason he doesn't win comfortably.

also have to point out that i told you guys that guys who leave psu have a decent track record in the revenge match. you told me there was no way beard would win. just some friendly ribbing haha

bartlett had a solid win. van ness is really fun. makes mistakes, but has the firepower to overcome. i can't wait to see him and austin gomez let the fur fly. another solid outing from facundo based on the result. haven't seen this one yet, but he's stacked some nice wins. nothing against great competition yet, but winning the ones he should decisively.

I have to ask, because, I've always wondered. Creekside to me means up Pine Crick back home. Are you from that area?

imagine how much you all would laugh at a hawkeye fan saying this lol could be true, but we've also seen psu look sluggish in duals basically every year. hard to be "on" for 5 months straight.

Van Ness seems to be taking the approach Cael would love with all his young wrestlers. Go score and then clean up the rest over time.

Like I said, just putting it out there and just saying.
Of course, you as always know better.
Thank you for being around to keep us humble. It is greatly appreciated.

I somewhat wonder if Dean needed a break and is working his way back in. He just got married this past summer if you want to make girlfriend jokes lol. I actually wondered why he didn’t compete at NWCA (I imagine he was invited) but chose to wrestle Black Knight. Possible he’s still working his way back into shape.

According to SEC fans all traditional SEC teams are great so that Auburn win, in SEC theory means a lot.

I get what you are saying, but when you are up by a couple TDs against a very average team and end up getting beat by a gazillion (Tenn) I don't want to hear how great you are because u dominated a 4 loss LSU team.

Clemson has beaten nobody really good either, and lost to 2 average teams (ND & USCarolina).

Utah (as I said PSU has the opportunity to make this point themselves) is a 3 loss team, so put them below 2 loss PSU.

USCalifornia has to ranked below Utah.

The CFP committee is beyond a joke. All this supposed statistical research to identify the 4 best teams, and provide an accurate ranking. They are nothing dissimilar than the AP or coaches poll, a subjective beauty contest.
Did you ever think it was, or would be, otherwise? Their job is to help teams qualify for their invitational. It is not a playoff where champions qualify. The BCS was a joke. The CFP is a joke.

Unless…… you sit back and decide it’s an invitational, then your life gets better and you probably end up like me….not watching those three games. I got other things to do. When it’s a tournament of champions in 2 years…I’ll watch.

Yep. I live along Pine Creek just outside of Jersey Shore. I'm not actually creek side property but if I remember correctly when I was signing up and trying to come up with a user name I had just spent the weekend on the creek. Pretty dumb name now but we all have to live with our mistakes. Lol

Hell no. You have the best name on the board! I knew you had to be from the area.

From Montoursville. Lived on the Sock and Pine Crick!

I get the idea that many of us are central PA guys. Growing up, it was all Baltimore for me. Closest major city. Colts and Orioles. But what do you do when the Colts load up busses in the middle of the night and the Orioles don’t even try to keep Mussina? Hello Eagles and Phillies.
First MLB game I attended was in Baltimore in the late 70’s when they had jim Palmer and eddy Murray . They had some great teams back then

I forgot KSt, but Alabama is stretching it.
Paraphrasing Beno Cook when comparing 1994 Nebraska and 1994 Penn State. Beno said Penn State is so much better than Nebraska PSU wins by 3 tds or more in Beaver Stadium, 2 tds or better on a neutral field and a td or better in Lincoln.
No matter where PSU lines up across from Alabama, Alabama is the 1994 PSU and PSU is the 1994 Cornhuskers. Play 20 games and I see PSU being competitive in most, but winning maybe once would be about the best they are going to do.
Using Beano’s analysis, Indiana and Illinois are better than 1994 Nebraska since Penn St only beat them by 6 and 4 on the road.

We're talking, Little Pine Dam, up 44, past Waterville, PA, and all the way up.
Lol. I’ve spent more than half my life going to hunting (and snowmobile) camp in Potter and (later) Tioga counties. It was listening to Penn State on (I think Williamsport) radio that I really fell in love with Penn State. If you know the song, we drank, played cards and shot the Bull while listening to Penn State football. For the bigger games, we’d drive into Germania and catch the game at the Waldheim. (That mean anything to you?)

Love it up there. But My dad sold the camp and my uncle moved south when they got old. Been about 5-6 years since I’ve been up that way. I’d like to hike the Rim Trail and the Black Forrest Trail, though. Bought the guides to plan the hike. Just haven’t done it yet.

Barraclough riding Humphreys a period was mighty impressive. Makes Haines reversing him to win impressive as well. I still lean Levi to be the guy in the post season, especially if we need a cushion with Dean's potential points being volatile (it could be 22 but it could be 9 also)

You have to do it. Black Forrest is awesome.

i think he's also a guy who willed his way to a lot of those wins last year. is that same drive there now that he's a champ and starting a family? he's also been in college wrestling for a long time.

If that's the case, then these guys shouldn't be on the mat potentially infecting who knows how many others. Period.

I heard this about every Iowa wrestler last year. It's a valid question sure but I don't think the motivation wasn't there to win in either matches, I think it was length against Laird and gas tank against Beard (ironic)

Nothing replaces home. I lost my cabin on Little Bear years ago during the floods. My brother's house is above Forksville, in Shunk.

I haven't made any effort to watch the playoff games since the Big10 commissioner publicly declared the Big10 champion not good enough to be included and openly lobbied against the champion's inclusion.
That said, that doesn't mean I do not enjoy pointing out how pathetic the whole thing is.
Until proven otherwise, the model they initially use in 2024 I expect to be as pathetic as they can make it.
