The incorrect assessments can come from any source. Media "experts", McAndrew Board "experts", etc.

For the purpose of this thread, I only want to consider the football program under Franklin. This thread is not intended to review the false narrative as it relates to Joe and the football program (although it is important to continue to pound the pavement in other threads).

I'll start, again, as it relates to the football program under Franklin.

  • Franklin is nothing more than a used car salesman and is in over his head.

"There aren't four more wins for this team on this schedule"

[immediately following week 4 of this/2016 season]

"Guns"

That should cover just about everything :)

I'll second the motion. One year does not a career make. Franklin's got to show me something. Long, sustained performance. I've always been skeptical of smooth talkers. He's got to show me something. So as far as I'm concerned the used car salesman label sticks.

Hindsight is 20-20. Let's have some balls and predict the 2017 season. I'll start: PSU goes 11-1 and goes to Big 10 Championship. I will copy this to notepad so I have for reference.

Franklin is "selling" academics first, service to the community, love your teammates, compete in everything you do, and sacrifice for the team.

He is delivering on those goals. That isn't just talk. If you don't care about those goals, as Matt Millen says, that's on you. But Franklin doesn't promise one thing and deliver something else, as your theoretical used car salesman would.

He's already accomplished more than Harbaugh. Has Jimma showed you anything?

I'll pony up. Last year the team was very poorly coached on the offensive side of the ball. We ended up with very poor clock management because we called so many timeouts to settle the offense. The o-line was one of the worst in all of college football by just about every measure.

So i hammered CJF and the staff throughout 2015 and am happy to say I did. i was a big supporter of JoeMo and his offense in the off season and was thrilled with the results of the Blue/White game.

"We're hiring a guy from the patriot league to call plays in the big ten?? Franklin has lost his mind, this will never work"

Franklin cannot beat ranked teams.

6-6 this year. DJ

OSU was a fluke win.

His OL lineup for the BW game is what you will see all year...no exceptions. (You know who)

Franklin is on the hotseat.

His halftime interviews lack the detail of Meyer..means he can't coach. (Peetz Pool Boy with that gem)

BTN in their 2016 the preseason said JF was on the " hot seat ". It was a frequent media narrative. Why let the facts get in the way of a good narrative ?

"So as far as I'm concerned....", LMFAO!

Flaming, bloviating and "thread humping" all at the same time - aren't you special...

Yes as everyone lights it up at Vandy....brilliant. I mean he did miss the playoffs his first year with a full roster so you're pretty much right on top of things.

PSU will never be competitive with Franklin as coach, let alone compete for B1G East Division, win a B1G Championship, compete for the BcS 4-Team Invitational Tournament or even sniff the Top 10 (or ranked at all for that matter)....

Reality: Coach Franklin has consistently outplayed daO$U - Hairball has not. Coach Franklin has won the B1G East Division - Hairball has not. Coach Franklin has won a B1G Championship - Hairball has noto. Etc....

No signature wins this year, he will lose to OSU, UM, MSU and Iowa.

Along those lines...we need an OC who knows how to beat OSU, MSU and Michigan and Moorhead is not that guy (21 again).

I don't think we should be beating people up for being critical of JF's performance from 2014 until after this year's UM game. We stunk for most of last two seasons. I had him on the hot seat because games were not even close against solid teams and his decision making was suspect. In fact, I think it still is suspect. No one could have predicted the impact of Joe Moorhead on the program. He saved JF's future at PSU and JF gets credit for making a huge hire. A system has been implemented, talent and leadership in the right place..can't we just enjoy? No one knew the team was that close to greatness earlier this season...
