How can I begin a national movement to get us to stop calling ANYTHING (outside of "it") by the name of corn hole?

I truly thought that it was just someone with a juvenile sense of humor who said that-like me- the first time that I heard it called that.

Get your mind out of the gutter, and maybe it won't be so bad to you.

Washers is slightly more challenging and a better game. The last time I played cornhole, I was more disgusted than happy when I sank every bag on my turn

Is washers like Quiots? I like Quoiots, a VERY regional game that is very popular in the Lehigh Valley area, but no where else I've seen. @smalls103--do you play?

Winning team gets this shirt:

Quoits is a superior game of skill.

it's like a religion in the lehigh valley.
Berks County too.No outdoor party without a quoit pit. Met guys from other parts of PA who never heard of it.Asked a couple people here in WA and they have no idea, nobody in this area really cares about wrestling either.I have to put a pit in when I get set up.

Pit? Must be the steel quoits. I grew up with the slate boards, rubber quoits. Totally different animal I would imagine.

What are you doing in WA and where?

Chelan area,out in the hills.

You sure can't go wrong on the scenery out there! The best wrestling areas in the state are out around Spokane and Pierce county. Awesome people everywhere though. I really miss living there.

Yes. Lebanon County also. My uncle has two quoit pits at his hunting cabin and various celebrations there include a quoits tourney.

The story I've heard is that horseshoes began to replace quoits because it was much easier to get "ringers". Cornhole is just a further degeneration of the pure game. ;)

The slate board game is relatively portable but is much more difficult to play than the traditional metal ring version, at least in my experience. Those damned rubber quoits can really bounce.

Spent 4 days vacation in Chelan couple weeks ago. Great area. Agsurfer is right about wrestling popularity in state being on the east and west sides. That north central part of state really struggles these days.

RV park?

Scenery is great.Jobs not as easy to find and don't pay as well as PA. Went to Chelan Christmas Tournament last year. Not putting them down, they're out there wrestling, but nothing like duals and states in PA. I knew this though, while still in PA I saw the Lake Stevens doc and when their state champs came to LV a lot of them left without a win.

Just got back from tourney. Great time but horrible weather. Went 2-2. Won first two and then I let our team down. Just got to Best Western. Can anyone recommend a good family place to eat? Never been up here. Preferably somewhere near campus with a good atmosphere

I like Whiskers in the Nittany Lion Inn. The Dining Room there has been a let down a few times over the last year or so. Downtown on College Avenue, I've found The Tavern to be good. I used to like the Allen Street Grill, but it's been taken over by new management, which seems to be not so good. Others know much better.

North of town are a ton of the Applebee, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Texas Roadhouse types. For pizza, we like any of the Hi-Way pizza locations. And there must be 20+ Asian restaurants locally. One of our fav's is Cozy Thai Bistro.

Thinking of heading to Matters Whisker suggestion. Want to have the college town atmosphere.

P.S—Got to meet Magic Man and I ran into Teasdale who was playing in the tourney as well. I asked if he was ready to rock and roll this year.. he said yes sir! Asked if he gonna be able to keep the weight and he said he’s on a great diet and he got it! Seemed like a nice kid. I’m looking forward to some big things from him

I don't know that it's a college town atmosphere, but the food is good and you can walk to College Avenue and take that in after. College students can drive out decent dining in any college town in the USA and usually do.

Otto’s on North Atherton has an extensive menu and decent brews, though the last time I was there the food left us disappointed..

Chelan is in caribou trail league and they combine with ours for regionals. They usually only get 8-12 kids to state out of the whole league. Cashmere was a power years ago in WA though.
