I thought I saw it posted here that he was wrestling at Midlands. Can anyone confirm if this is the plan?

Thanks in advance!

Based on something Mark Hall tweeted, it seemed like the Southern Scuffle was in his plans (nothing more concrete than that, so maybe not). Midlands is Thurs-Fri and Scuffle is Sun-Mon. While possible, it would seem unlikely to do both.

A couple weeks ago, from a reliable source, it was stated that several guys were looking at the Cleveland State Open and the Wilkes Open. No names yet, but should have soon.

Wilkes Open replacing Scuffle/Midlands? PSU schedule rubbing off on Mark

Edit: My joke doesn't seem so funny now. Turned away by Midlands, hoping for Scuffle.
Frustrating week for PSU fans.

This is what was posted here by Chitty66:

"Confirmed today Luke Gardner and Mark Hall will be wrestling in the Cleveland State Open on December 17th and at the Midlands on December 29 & 30. They will not be at the scuffle."

Chitty has posted seven times in this forum & every post has been about Luke Gardner (Hall's roommate, iirc). Maybe he's in a position to know.

I agree, it does seem he knows. This type of stuff changes often though, up to the date/hour of the event. My sources are pretty good too...maybe today I'll know something that can be passed on.

3 wrestlers from PSU registered for Cleveland St. Open. No names yet, but if Hall wrestles, I'd expect 174 could have:

Austin Trott- Gardner-Webb
Fox Baldwin- Virginia
Davonte Mahomes- Michigan (wishful)
Cody Hughes- Virginia Tech
Jordan Atienza- Central Michigan

Though it wouldn't surprise me if the PSU guys were scratches or didn't include Hall with Wilkes being a confirmed destination for some. I suppose it's possible to do both, but Wilkes will be 5 days after this tournament.

Mark Hall, George Carpenter, Luke Gardner & Tristan Law I was told are all wrestling at Cleveland this weekend. But I heard from a reliable source that both Mark Hall and Gardner were not granted entrance into the Midlands. I was shocked that they would not want a wrestler of Mark's caliber and credentials in that bracket. I have read somewhere in an interview that Cael did recently, when asked about his choice of Reno over the Scuffle and Midlands, he said they were out of the Scuffle because it was a conflict with Dual schedule, and that he just was not a far of the Midlands, maybe payback from the Tournament Directors. I believe the article was in the mat.com in the Forum, if anyone wants to listen.

Ok sorry about my previous post Law and Carpenter have backed out,Hall and Gardner are the only two competing in Cleveland. Hall at 174 and Gardner @149. I dont think you will see Hall at any other opens he dressed for the Binghamton match Sunday and I was told will begin weighing in for matches. Are we getting closer to seeing him opt out of his redshirt?

Makes you wonders about Jered's health. Chasing points? Let's do it!

Do you know if he is making an attempt to enter the Scuffle?

Even Cael can't withstand Spyker's withering all-caps assault.

Someone mentioned Sunday in the PBP thread that Hall was on the bench but Rasheed wasn't spotted.

But both Morelli & Rasheed are entered at Reno.

I don't feel we need to burn Hall's redshirt.

Even if Cortez is injured, Morelli seems improved this year & especially since McCutcheon is fairing well at a sparse 197. And Rasheed may still win the 174 spot.

It will still be interesting to watch it all unfold.

Rasheed has an infection that kept him out for Binghamton and will keep him out this weekend, according to what Cael said on his show last night.

It will be fun to watch and everyone in the line up is capable of obtaining AA , I am very happy with either Morelli or Rasheed. I think Cortez will be fine and just looking forward to the season progressing. We are really deep and just don't think we need the extra points Hall would get us, certainly comfortable with whatever happens. The only thing I know is the coaches seem like they have been at this thing for a while and know a bit more than I do.
Always thought Spyker sort of Cael's alter ego

Currently, Brian Friery is the only PSU wrestler signed up for the Wilkes Open. CLICK HERE for a list of registered wrestlers. Note: the registration list was last updated on Thursday at 1:32 pm (assuming that's EST)
