Michigan with 11 players drafted

Umm 49-10 is a pretty good reason right?
You're kind of missing the whole point. PSU had a ton of injuries at that point and the OLine still hadn't started to gel. It was a different Penn State team. That's why a game later in the season would have been different. That's the point of the discussion. So the first game is not a good reason. How about Michigan losing to Iowa? That's a reason to show PSU would have had a good chance to beat Michigan later in the season. You know Iowa, the team PSU beat like a rented mule?

Wait a couple of injuries led to 39 point differential? I'm not saying it wouldn't have been closer but thats a pretty big gap. Also I've been told (rather rudely) by some of your board police no excuses here so I'll have ask you to refrain as well

A couple of injuries? Really? Only a couple?

you expect me to believe that a few starters would've made up the 39 point margin? (Which could've been more, Jimmy called the dogs off) I mean I could see it if the game was even marginally close but it wasn't.

Keep flogging that 2016 game. You have a few months more. Hope you will be in Beaver Stadium this year. We'll make it a memorable night for you.

His NFC championship as well as his 3 straight NFC championship games proves he knows how to Coach

No rings. With the talent San Fran had when he was there....they couldn't finish, and plenty of Harbaugh's decisions were in fact questioned. I think it's still a question. I still can't believe Kaepernick didn't win the SB that one year.

Most of the defense is more than a few starters.

Harbaugh is a HELLUVA coach in a blowout. Forget Penn State, he coached a GENIUS game against Rutgers. Who else in the country could have made it 78-0 against Rutgers?

In a close game, though, not so much. To me the defining moment for JH last season was throwing out of the end zone at the Shoe, throwing down the middle into traffic -- with what I recall was a 3 point lead. That told you all you needed to know about his game coaching ability. Of course, all he wanted to talk about after the game was how it was the officials' fault for not handing Michigan the game they were so obviously entitled to.

Just a little better coaching and Michigan would have been in the playoff with the best combination of talent and experience of anybody in the country. Instead another close game, another loss (which was also clearly the officials' fault as I recall).

Wait then what rings does Franklin have? If an NFC conference championship doesnt get you a ring why would a big ten conference championship? I think there very comparble and probably more difficult in the NFL with the parody in the league

I'm not comparing Franklin to anybody. Obviously he still has a lot of rungs left on the ladder. I did observe that Franklin's players play really hard for him. Didn't see that out of Michigan down the stretch, but maybe I just missed it.

Who knows, like I said, I wouldn't count Harbaugh out. He definitely had his team ready to play Rutgers. They really showed everybody that week how magnificent they were.

Didn't know you guys were missing 6 starters on D, sounds made up

Wait so you can't blame officials around here? I guess I've seen the officials blamed for every PSU loss to both OSU and UofM for the last 25 years, I'm glad you guys have seen the error of your ways

I don't know the 49-10 drubbing of the B1G champs was nice. (Pretty sure you didnt watch They played quite hard, unfortunately couldn't close out a couple games at the end, had a lead inside a minute in every loss but the D let them down, that doesn't show a lack of effort losing by 40 does)

Michigan was the best team in the country in September. The experience and talent they had returning was overwhelming . They are well coached and they played dominant football. As the season went along other more inexperienced teams began to gel and catch up. That is the nature of college football. Once we had our defining moment against Minnesota we were going to be a match for anybody. As Penn State fans were back on an even playing field and I believe we're just going to get better. That's all I care about.

I respect that, good post and good luck (except on October 21st)

What excuses? Pointing out playing teams on the road is more difficult than at home. Congrats on the Big Ten title never said anything different, but might want to tone down the smack talk about a team that literally destroyed PSU

3-0 in the last 3
Too funny - you are in a PSU board and telling people to town down the smack talk.

Well I was merely responding to trash talk directed at a team that beat PSU by 39. I've haven't disparaged PSU just pointing out the absurdity. I see that upsets you, and I'm sorry for that

You mean the third place team in the Big Ten East?

LdN

We'll see Franklin has yet to beat Michigan and hasn't really competed with Harbaugh to this point, not really worried about it honestly it'll be a close game and could go either way

So far, JF has a conference championship. JH does not. So you are right, JF is not really competing with JH.

Just admit it. Michigan should be way ahead of Penn State right now, given the circumstances of the last 5 years. And yet, they are not. This should be a cause for alarm on your part, but perhaps our Pitt brethren have told you that this is to be expected, and that in any case you'll still be awarded 7 or 8 national championships per year if you continue at your current rate of success.

Let's remember: you came here. We didn't go to your version of the Lair.

I didn't realize the NFC wasn't a conference, doesn't it stand for "national football conference".

Was looking for Micah Parsons scuttle butt but saw this thread and opened it my mistake. Also looks like Parsons may have some off the field issues that probably exclude UofM from going after him hard (not that they really had a solid shot or anything)

I know you're hoping for it, but do you really believe it will be a close game? Well, it's Michigan, so the refs might keep it closer than it should be

Can't use refs as an excuse that been established in this thread. Also why wouldn't I, what has PSU done against UofM that leads you to believe they'll dismantle Michigan? there is literally nothing pointing to it besides blind hope

Sure how many points am I getting?

Figured you'd back down from "probably laying the wood".

UM loses a minimum of 3 games this year; we are Big10 Champs and return almost everybody. Wise to shrivel from that statement.

You're the one that said it wouldn't be close, figured you meant a Michigan win as that's been the majority outcome of the games between the two played in the last 20 years

I was at the game two years ago....hardly Michigan laying the wood.
Yea it wasn't as bad as last year but the game wasnt really close either, however when the gentleman I was responding to said it won't be close this year that's what I figured he meant
