Well, other than shooting each other, coach wanting to fight opponent's Dad, wrestler wanting to fight teammate's Dad, coach yelling, "YOU SUCK!" in a ref's face, wrestler's Dad trying to poach guys,coach telling the press he knows for a fact about "paid haters", new guy wanting to wrestle even though the teammate told him to kneel down to hawk royalty, and whatever other weird shit they have going on, Tom will tell you, "We do things the right way."
I have no problem with Spencer tonight or this year. Coming off double ACL surgery.......you want me to wrestle hard in the room against someone who: A. Doesn't really like me and B. Knows that any damage to my knee(s) means he will be starting and wrestling at NCAAs? Hard pass. What seems clear is that Spencer was expecting Ayala to MFF. Ayala refused. The coaches sat on their tiny thumbs. So Spencer throttled him. Him stating "You wanted this" and "That is my teammate" indicates o me that Spencer didn't want to throttle him but Ayala and the coaches forced his hand.....so he Spencer Lee'd him. I got no problem with Spencer on this one.
As far as Mama Bear saying that Spencer "Acted Like he wasn't wrestling his teammate" and "That makes me sick"......I'll chock that up to Mama Bear Pride/Protection. Surely she didn't expect Spencer to gently toss him on pillows after covering him with layers of bubble wrap? Or let him win like your dad did when you were two. YOU wanted to wrestle Spencer. YOU did wrestle Spencer. YOU got your a$$ whooped. Shake hands and learn from it
Ayala IS Good. Spencer is Spencer F@#king LeeIf there is any "Blame" in this situation....I think it should fall on the coaches. The stood/stooped by while this animosity played out. Then again....maybe it was their way to fire up Spencer Lee at the expense of the Ayala Family. Dwarfs can be geniuses...right

Would have been interesting to see how that 3rd period went. I'm not sold on his conditioning yet, he still gassed in the match before this one, and you can dog on the poor competition nationally all you want, but if he doesn't get in better shape it's gonna get him, maybe not until Friday night in Tulsa, but it WILL happen.

Drake had no issue with the throttling. Seems like he’s (and the family) wondering why he doesn’t spend more time in the room.
If the worry is that a teammate will injure you on purpose, there are already bigger issues they need worked out at least with that one guy. Like why’s the guy on the roster. If it’s just that easy to injure again, how on Earth is he going to wrestle live opponents several times over 2-3 days?
I love it that Spencer Lee was way more motivated to pummel and embarrass a teammate than any opponent from a different team. Pretty sure that only happens at Iowa and with the nut jobs running that program.

Pretty entertaining overall for a little tournament like that. Glad to see guys show up and ready to go in the finals.

In my opinion, if Spencer can get healthy and his endurance improves, he will win # 4 this year. It also seems as though he is burned out on wrestling, which is understandable given his injury history.
I don’t see him wrestling freestyle after college, and at this point, I think Gilman would dominate him if he did. And if that ever happens, I also believe Gilman would be gracious in victory because of his maturation and development as a person.
Quite the contrast with what we’re seeing coming out of Iowa these days.
