It's South Carolina, been here almost 30 years now. Where are you now? Did your mother go to Snowden? Spent plenty of time on the back roads between South Park, Gill Hall, Peters Creek, Finleyville. Knew the Large "patch" the best. Spent plenty a night at the Large Hotel.

You all make me think I should like / root for Pitt. But I’m still pissed at them over not helping create an Eastern All-Sports conference and then joining the Big East that subsequently denied our petition to join. It’s only been 30-some years.
My mother went to live with her Aunt in D.C. for HS. I don't know where she would've gone, but I'll ask my Aunt and see where she went.
One of their patches was the one up on the hill not far from the Large Hotel, which burned down some years ago. My brother had worked at the former Westinghouse plant in Large, which is pretty much across Rte 51 from where the Large Hotel stood. The other patch was the one off Horning Road in South Park.
I've driven most of those backroads. Things are a little different since the Mon Valley Expressway went in.
Coincidentally, my brother lives on Snowden Road. I live in Central MD now, about an hour NW of Baltimore. My friends refer to my woods as being in the middle of nowhere.

That's exactly why JoePa never cared about scheduling Pitt. The fans wanted it to happen but JoePa was still ticked about them going to the Big East conference. I hold that grudge too.
